We caught up with the brilliant and insightful GEREMY DAVIS a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
GEREMY, appreciate you joining us today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
At Golf and Gospel, our mission is to bridge the gap between faith and sport, using golf as a platform to have meaningful conversations about life, purpose, and the good news of Jesus Christ.
This mission is deeply personal because, after playing six years in the NFL, I experienced firsthand how easily identity can get tied to performance and status. When that chapter ended, I wrestled with what was next. Golf became an outlet for me to stay competitive, but more than that, God used it as a space for reflection, growth, and connection.
As I engaged more with the golf world, I noticed two things missing: African American representation in long-form golf content and a consistent spiritual presence that encouraged people beyond entertainment. That’s why this mission is so meaningful—it’s not just about creating content; it’s about creating impact. I want every person who watches Golf and Gospel to leave feeling like they’ve gained something—whether that’s encouragement, wisdom, or a reminder that their worth isn’t tied to their performance but found in Christ.
This is bigger than golf. It’s about leaving people better than we found them, one conversation and one round at a time.
GEREMY, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Geremy Davis, and before I ever picked up a golf club, I spent six years playing in the NFL. Like many athletes, my identity was heavily tied to my career on the field. But when that chapter came to a close, I was left with the question so many athletes face: What’s next?
That question led me to golf—a sport that challenged me mentally and physically and gave me a new outlet to compete. But as I immersed myself in the game and the media surrounding it, I noticed two things missing: African American representation in long-form golf content and a spiritual presence that uplifted and encouraged viewers.
That’s when Golf and Gospel was born. It’s a YouTube series and growing media platform where I sit down with guests—athletes, influencers, business leaders, and believers—play 9 holes of golf, and have meaningful conversations about life, purpose, and faith.
What sets us apart is that we’re not just creating content for entertainment—we’re creating content with eternal impact. Viewers walk away encouraged, challenged, and informed. Whether we’re talking about the highs and lows of life, discussing faith openly, or just sharing a few laughs on the course, every episode is designed to add value beyond the screen.
I’m most proud that Golf and Gospel is giving people a new way to see faith integrated into everyday life and conversations—without it feeling forced or preachy. It’s real, it’s authentic, and it’s needed in today’s world.
For anyone looking to engage with the brand, know this: we’re here to entertain, encourage, and most importantly, point people to the hope found in Jesus Christ—all while enjoying the beautiful game of golf.
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
One of the biggest pivots in my life came when my NFL career ended. For years, football was my identity. It shaped how I approached life, how I competed, and honestly, how I viewed success. But when that chapter closed, I was left standing in the unknown, asking, “What now?”
That transition wasn’t easy. I wrestled with feelings of loss, lack of direction, and the challenge of finding something that reignited my passion. That’s when golf entered the picture. At first, it was just a new sport to learn and a way to stay competitive. But as I spent more time around the game, God began to stir something deeper in me.
I realized there was a space for authentic conversations about faith and life within the golf world—a space that didn’t really exist in the way I envisioned. That’s when I took a leap of faith and started Golf and Gospel. It wasn’t just a career pivot; it was a calling.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Building my audience on social media has been a journey of staying true to my values and connecting with people who share the same heart. From the beginning, I knew that Golf and Gospel wasn’t going to be about chasing numbers or following trends just to go viral—it was about creating content with purpose and eternal impact.
One of the biggest ways I’ve grown is by partnering with like-minded individuals and organizations that are unashamed of their faith and passionate about sharing the gospel. Collaborations with people and brands like Identity Sports and FigTree Golf have helped me reach audiences that care about more than just entertainment—they’re looking for something meaningful.
