We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Geovanna Burgess White. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Geovanna below.
Geovanna , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Owning a business isn’t always glamorous and so most business owners we’ve connected with have shared that on tough days they sometimes wonder what it would have been like to have just had a regular job instead of all the responsibility of running a business. Have you ever felt that way?
I absolutely love being a business owner, though the transition was challenging and took time; I can now reflect on both the good and the challenges. While it’s easier to have a traditional salary for a stable money mindset, I remind myself that the hard work and discipline will pay off in the long run with greater flexibility and time freedom.

Geovanna , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I am a passionate relationship coach and genuine supporter of women, dedicated to connecting and empowering them through my work. At YG Collaborations, our coaching agency guides women in the trifecta of relationships: with self, time, and money. We offer one-on-one, team, and corporate coaching, alongside our three signature events: Haven (our retreat), The Collective (our conference), and a mastermind for women leaders in our communities. We serve a vibrant community by providing meaningful socials, events, and experiences

We’d love to hear about how you met your business partner.
Back in 2018, while working in the wedding and event industry, I met the “Y” to YG Collaborations through a mutual colleague who suggested we connect. We met, instantly hit it off, and by 2019, we collaborated to support clients who had lost their wedding venues, creating budget-friendly weddings that provided revenue for our teams. This partnership blossomed into a business relationship, which helped us navigate the challenges of COVID-19. We kept our businesses afloat alongside our vendors and even increased our wedding projects from 2020 to 2022. In August 2022, we decided to transition fully into coaching, and we haven’t looked back since.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
Our social media presence is not just my passion project but also my love language and something I look forward to daily. We will never outsource it because we are such an emotional brand. Once we figured out the ideal woman we wanted to work with and the communities we wanted to serve, I wholeheartedly infused the soul of YG Collaborations into our content. My advice: micro-niche—know who you are, what problem you solve, and your ideal client. Utilize the free platforms available, and don’t get caught in comparison or worry about likes and follows. If you show up authentically, your ideal audience will recognize and resonate with you.
