Georgi , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’d love to hear about the early days of establishing your own firm. What can you share?
It all started in 2013 when I designed and installed my own IKEA kitchen at home, which eventually led me to co-founding Virginia Kitchens LLC back in 2015. While this exceptional partnership allowed me to work with hundreds of local projects around Virginia Beach and Hampton Roads, I found a need to offer services with a higher attention to detail, customized solutions, and premium customer support.
This need to evolve my business operations grew until I started Swedish Kitchens. As a completely separate entity, I took IKEA installation services to an even higher level. Me and my team provide meticulous attention to detail, always putting the needs and dreams of our clients first. That level of customer service is why we have made such a significant impact on the local market.
I do hold a master’s degree in construction management and I am supported by an experienced team. We elevate the sense of quality and detail-focused service for any kitchen remodel. From installing new Kitchen cabinets to partnering with local artisans, we aim to provide all the information and expertise you need for a fantastic new kitchen.
Our primary focus has always remained on the assembly and installation of IKEA SEKTION cabinets and frameworks like the AKURUM and other sets. This allows you a durable and stylish kitchen design that goes well beyond the typical “face-frame” cabinets you would get from most contractors, without sacrificing the quality service you expect.

Swedish Kitchens exclusively works with IKEA products. We specialize in our services, meaning we know how to complete the job with less labor, time, and problem solving than a DIY or local contractor would require. At the end of the day, this focus means you spend less time worrying about how to assemble a boxed set of cabinets and more time planning what meal to cook in your brand new kitchen.
I want to tell every young person, that is considering starting his own firm to be brave and follow his dreams. This means you need to work hard every single day, but if you have a dream and you are working hard for it, you will achieve it eventually! Never give up, no matter how hard it looks like, because after the storm there is always a sunshine! There will be challenges along the way, but that is what is makes it interesting, look it from that perspective.
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
Being knowledgeable of the entire process from design to installation is a key. Always being on time and exceed clients expectations builds you great reviews that brings you new business all the time.
What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
There are multiply sources for new clients and you have to use them all to be really effective. You can`t rely only on good marketing, advertising, you have to constantly meet with new people. The word of mouth is still one of the best ways to receive new leads, based on the incredible work that you have done in the past for other people that they know. If you do the things the right way, sooner or later the success will follow! Never give up on your dreams!
