We caught up with the brilliant and insightful George Sydnor a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
George, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. So, naming is such a challenge. How did you come up with the name of your brand?
Crown 7 LLC. is seven men with creative ideas with no one thinking the same. Each man is a king in his own right and at any given time we all have the support of six other men.
The look of our brand is Crown S7ven.
George, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’ve been importing from around the world for over 20yrs. I started in Brazil with Granite and Marble, which then lead me to India where I currently import 100% Indian Virgin Hair. Today I am currently a US Broker for Ravali Spinners PVT LTD, 100% Cotton Yarn Manufactures. This has introduced me to the textile industry. I am currently a US Broker that sells 100% cotton and yarn from India to textile companies around the world. In my travels I found a factory that made working scrub uniforms. I did some research, listening to the concerns of those who wore scrubs and I found that the two major concerns with working scrubs were the material and how uncomfortable they were to work in. Our company name is Crown 7 LLC. and the look of our brand is Crown S7ven. Look out for us, we are we are coming to a city near you.
We’d really appreciate if you could talk to us about how you figured out the manufacturing process.
As I’m selling cotton to textile factories, that allowed me to look at the quality of material that different textile factories produce, along with there volume output. This made it easy for me to choose the factory that we use today.
Alright – let’s talk about marketing or sales – do you have any fun stories about a risk you’ve taken or something else exciting on the sales and marketing side?
When I was a little boy I had a newspaper route. One day it was raining and I decided to go to a nearby grocery store to sell my newspapers until it stopped raining. I found that I sold more newspapers at the market then I thought I would and wound up not having enough newspapers for my regular route. This is when I realized that I needed more newspapers so I doubled my order. This was the first risk I ever took and I have been taking risks ever since.
