We caught up with the brilliant and insightful George Moss a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
George, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to hear about a project that you’ve worked on that’s meant a lot to you.
In 2014, Gmoss Designs, Llc, a family-owned Illustration and product design company who teaches a product development workshop to youth and adults called Fashion to Comics™, had an idea to create a convention where attendees can attend for free, be encouraged to create their own work (comics, fashion designs, video games, films, novels, and more) and where creators of all types of fields can have a place to sell their work at an affordable price, make connections and make fans. With the support of the creative community, Beyond Comicon™ was launched on Saturday, February 19, 2022.
Beyond Comicon™ is a movement to inspire individuals to become future creators. It’s a family focused convention where creators and independent designers make connections, showcase their comics, fashion designs, video games, and BEYOND.™
On Saturday, February 17, 2024, 10am-5pm will be our 3rd year for Beyond Comicon™. The first year went well with over 700 people and this year was better than the first year with over 800 people in attendance. “We are very grateful for the support of the creative community and the sponsorship of North Miami Beach Commissioner, Michael Joseph, Esq.” He is our main sponsor for this year and next year’s event.
At Beyond Comicon™, creators and designers exhibit their brands to sell their work and we try encourage future creators.
Guests have the opportunity to attend free panels hosted by professionals in various industries discussing entrepreneurship, how to create comics, fashions, ways to market and sell creations, and also covering other broad areas of items. Attendees can register for free tickets at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/beyond-comicontm-tickets-688115109817

In your view, what can society to do to best support artists, creatives and a thriving creative ecosystem?
I think that the best way for society to support creatives is to continue to give the creatives an affordable platform to network, exhibit their works of art, and to teach the community what they know. My hope is that creatives will grow and also help others to create their own work. I believe this can help all communities thrive.
Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
One of my goals is to encourage everyone to use their gifts and talents to uplift their communities.
