We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful George McDonald. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with George below.
George, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?
My Show “The G-Smoove Experience, A movie I co wrote called Entanglement, Angie Stones latest album “Love Language”, Ruben Studdards Latest Album “The Way I remember It” and his current single from that project “Masterpiece.”

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I am a rado personality, a filmmaker and a songwriter. I really enjoy what I do because it gives me a lot of variety . I majored in Mass Media Arts with a concentration in radio, TV and Film while in college. I love music so I wanted to do anything that kept me close to or in music so that’s why I chose radio. I also writings and have been doing so since about 2007. I am unique in the fact that I work in radio so I have an understanding of what makes a good song for radio, which is the goal for most artists. This makes me valuable to them. One thing I love to do is support up and coming artists who have radio worthy music. I host a segment called New Music Monday where I interview artists and play their music on the radio. As a songwriter I currently have a song on a major artist that I co wrote that is on radio now. I co wrote the song “Masterpiece” for Ruben Studdard with famed songwriter Balewa Muhammad and singer/songwriter Marco Richh. It is a strong single that has been performing well and I am very proud of it.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
There are a lot of stories of resilience in my life but I must say that the biggest one is from the past 2 years. In the midst of working on these different projects and trying to function at a high level went through a split in my marriage and lost my mother. Either of those things could break a person and make them give up and I had to endure both of them in a year. I learned true strength and resilience while dealing with the two most difficult things I’ve ever had to deal with. I am a living testament to Gods love and perseverance.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding thing about being a creative is seeing someone enjoy your work that doesn’t even know you. To hear a song I wrote on the radio or at an event and to see others jam to it and genuinely enjoy it is really satisfying and meaningful. The reward is knowing that my creativity mattered to someone else and brought them enjoyment. That is a true gift from God.
