Alright, George thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s talk about social media – do you manage your own or do you have someone or a company that handles it for you? Why did you make the choice you did?
At this point in my career, I probably should have someone running my socials. Honestly, I have tried to hire companies, but I am so selective and have a certain image that I like to portray. So, I choose to do it my self. This may be the right or wrong answer because sometimes I get overwhelmed and have to take a social break, (which I think can be healthy from time to time) but I do feel like my social media truly represents my brand, myself and the experience of working directly with me.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My name is George Khalife, professionally I am known as George the Jeweler. I am a jeweler, designer and manufacturer of fine jewelry. Jewelry has been our family business since my grandfather started it back in Lebanon. My dad brought it with him to Detroit, Michigan, and built what is now the largest wholesale / retail jewelry store in the state. After college, I stared to design my own jewelry and took a greater interest in the business. I now run the company, established a world wide brand and have launched multiple successful jewelry lines. I also have designed for many well known celebrities and socialites such as Gigi Hadid, Shakira, Christina Milian, Megan Fox, Nicole Scherzinger and the Kardashians. I think what sets me apart from others in this business is my attention to deal and my honesty.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
I really think it’s the experience of working with me. I truly treat my clients like friends first and customers second. I really listen to them and a lot of the time give them my personal phone number. I am very honest and I do my best to get things done on time and to the best of my ability. They really appreciate that. Even though I am Detroit based, I’ll have a client call or text me from Los Angeles, tell me what they want, and the next day it’ll be at the door step. It’s a luxury and a convenience.
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
I believe social media is the best source of new clients for any business period. Instagram, for example, is like our modern day business card. It’s the one thing that my generation could do that the previous couldn’t. So I saw that window, opened it and it really changed the game for me. I made of vision board of potential clients, reached out and it worked. My best piece of advice for any entrepreneur especially a creative one is to make use of social media. It’s a free tool that can transform a business. Just do it, take pictures of your work and post it. If you continue and really work at it, it will grow.
