We were lucky to catch up with George Baines recently and have shared our conversation below.
George, appreciate you joining us today. One of the toughest things about progressing in your creative career is that there are almost always unexpected problems that come up – problems that you often can’t read about in advance, can’t prepare for, etc. Have you had such and experience and if so, can you tell us the story of one of those unexpected problems you’ve encountered?
First things first never quit no matter the predicament or the adversity you’re facing ! Something I’ve learned over the years becoming a musician , is that you’re going to run into them . Wether or not you start off with the proper connections or not its all about your resolve.
Ive run into many myself of course but ,with the love of music my friends and the people who do support me I’ve been able to keep going. Not everybody can say that so it’s a blessing to be able to have those simple resources .
One of the many issues I faced coming into the artist I am today is support. Like I said before I have friends who have always been there but , family is something you expect to put you on a pedastal and unfortunately it doesn’t always work that way!
Im sure some of you reading this could attest to that and how it affected you . Me personally it hit home once I found my love for muisc it was all I wanted to do no scratch that all I wanted to be I couldn’t and to this day see myself as anything else.
With that being said keep going find new ways to properly motivate yourself especially if you have people counting on you.
I believe in you u got this!!
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Well I started off with poetry in the 9th grade and, overtime my skill and love for the art grew . You know believe it or not when I first started I couldn’t even rap on beat.
It took me about a year of really practicing my but off and, it wasnt until my good friend B – Eazy told me to use poetry in motion and it finally clicked. So today I owe him my beginning!
I mean who knows where I be if he hadn’t inspired my with those very words.
As far as services go I write and compose entire songs for other artist as well as my own perosnal music . So Just know if you come to me you’ll get on of the most quality written songs out there thats a promise !
Can you share your view on NFTs? (Note: this is for education/entertainment purposes only, readers should not construe this as advice)
I think they are part of the future something not to be taking to lighlty you know . Ive dabbled here and there and well its a huge industry you just have to ready to totally indulge .
Any resources you can share with us that might be helpful to other creatives?
Not necessarily I just think signing up for the basics like ASCAP ,BMI . etc are truly crucial in the beginning . learning how to promote yourself and take it to the next level.
As well as making sure your professionally taking care off is a big step when you enter the music industry no matter where u are in your career .
