Alright, Geoffrey thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What was the most important lesson/experience you had in a job that has helped you in your professional career?
Having soft skills such as being kind and patient. These skills enable me to not respond in haste or out of frustration if an interaction with a client or potential client is not going as planned. I can take a beat and respond with kindness, even if I don’t want to do so.

I got started in freelance writing after seeing people talk about it on TikTok! I promptly jumped on freelancing platforms such as Fiverr, Upwork, and others.
I used to be a full-time copywriter back when I worked in advertising and digital marketing so I knew I already had the skill to write, so I wasted no time getting clients. I used to write blogs and web content for clients in digital marketing, so those were my first services I decided to offer. I have expanded to include press releases, branding packages, books, ebooks, white papers, and social media. I write about any subject under the sun that clients need; however, I have struck a special groove with NFT and crypto clients.
I’m most proud of the way I make clients feel like friends instead of a client. I ask about their lives, the history of their business, family, weekends, business goals, and other things beyond the project. This friendliness turns them into repeat clients.
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
I had to pivot my freelance writing business to include submitting my own writing to online publications so I can be even more in control of my writing schedule and topics! I love working with clients but I can submit my writing to publications when I choose to write and about topics I’m more passionate about and have deep knowledge.
How do you keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty?
I treat them like a friend! I ask how their day or weekend went, the family, show an interest in their businesses and lives beyond that particular project. Furthermore, I keep calm when things may get frustrating/tense.
