Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Geneva Casebolt. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Geneva, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?
I knew I wanted to pursue a creative path when I was 16 and started doing Musical Theatre. I loved being other people and found apart of myself in playing those characters. I also started doing Pole Dance as a hobby when I was 18 and it’s something I’ve always done. Although I didn’t truly add it to my future goals until I was about 20.
All in all, dance and acting got me though a really hard time in my life when I was dealing with an eating disorder and I’m very grateful that I did those things. Going through that made me want to make creative projects that helped others in that way too.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I got into the industry after college when I majored in Theatre. My goal was to act and dance and I’ve since accomplished those things as I now act and dance for commercials and movies primarily. I also post content about spirituality as I’m a huge believer in the Law of Attraction. Not in a fluffy way but a real way.
My proudest accomplishment is when I made my first Pole Dance film and it’s been something that I’d been working on for a few months.
In your view, what can society to do to best support artists, creatives and a thriving creative ecosystem?
The things that society can do to support, artis, and creatiVes is to simply view their work online, go to their shows, as well as support independent films more. Doing this would not only tell the public that the arts is important but that its important to tell stories and express ourselves.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding aspect of being an artist is the emotional happiness I get from it. I feel better and it’s a very Theraputic thing for me to do.
