We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Geneisha Rosales a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Geneisha thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What do you think Corporate America gets wrong in your industry? Any stories or anecdotes that illustrate why this matters?
Corporate America often gets it wrong in the wellness industry by prioritizing profits over people—both clients and employees. This approach leads to overworking therapists, underpaying them, and stripping the job of its personal, healing touch.
When I worked for a corporate company, it felt like I was just a “number.” They emphasized quotas and sales, not the actual care or well-being of clients. I was expected to squeeze in as many clients as possible during a shift, often with little time to reset physically or mentally between sessions. It was exhausting, both physically and emotionally, and left me feeling more like a robot than a therapist.
One moment that really stood out to me was when a client specifically requested extra time for a therapeutic session, but the company policy limited how much I could do without charging for an “upgrade.” It was disheartening because I knew the client needed care, but corporate rules blocked me from providing the best service.
That’s part of why I started my own business.

Geneisha , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I’m Geneisha, or Gigi, a licensed massage therapist with over 12 years of experience and the owner of Therapeutic Trips. My journey began with a passion for helping people feel better physically, emotionally, and mentally.
I specialize in customized, all-inclusive massage services like deep tissue, prenatal, myofascial release, and Myoskeletal Alignment Therapy. Every session is tailored to the client’s needs, including services like hot stones and cupping, at no extra cost. My goal is to create a welcoming space where clients feel cared for, not rushed or treated like a number.
What sets me apart is my personal touch and dedication to building lasting relationships with my clients. I’m proud of the positive impact I’ve made on their health and wellness journeys and the growth of my business.
Looking ahead, I’m excited to expand my services and eventually open a studio that’s a sanctuary for wellness, both for clients and other practitioners. My mission is to provide a holistic experience that restores and uplifts.
What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
The best source of new clients for me has been collaborating with my friend, who’s an esthetician, and doing events together. We’ve done two so far, and the second one was such a blast! It was in Fort Lauderdale on a Sunday, and the energy was incredible. Events like these not only allow me to showcase my services but also connect with people in a fun, relaxed environment. It’s been a great way to build relationships and attract new clients.
Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
I’ve grown my client base by being myself and focusing on building real connections. Word of mouth has been huge for me, and social media lets me share what I do authentically to reach more people.
Collaborating with other professionals, like my esthetician friend, for events has also been a game-changer. These events not only bring exposure but also allow me to connect with new clients in a fun, welcoming environment. Word-of-mouth referrals and the trust I’ve built with my clients over the years have been key to steady growth as well.
