In today’s fast-paced world, many wonder if travel advisors ever get the opportunity to take vacations themselves. The common misconception is that travel advisors are always jet-setting off to bucketlist destinations or even road trips, enjoying endless leisure. The reality is quite different. Travel advisors are dedicated professionals who work tirelessly to create dream getaways for their clients, but they often find it challenging to take a vacation themselves. We take memorable vacations; however, we are working on clients’s travels while on holiday.
As a certified travel advisor and founder of Indi Star Destinations travel company, I find time to go on vacations to reset my mental health. Travel advisors are passionate about exploring the world and curating an epic getaway. This love for travel often drives us to stay committed to our work, making it challenging to step away from our businesses even while on vacation!!! We are on call 24/7!! We are our clients 1-800 number!
Unlike traditional 9-to-5 jobs, travel advisors need to maintain a high level of flexibility. The demand for our services can peak during holidays, leaving little space for us to take time off when everyone else does. Yes, it sucks at times, but it’s our duty as travel advisors to create memorable experiences for our clients.

Most people think we book vacations; however, we are constantly researching and curating late-night proposals. For example, Indi Star Destination partnered with a vendor in Bali with whom I had to coordinate meetings at 1:00 a.m. due to the time zone difference.
My advice to entrepreneurs, including travel professionals, is to recognize the importance of self-care. Regular breaks and vacations are essential for maintaining physical and mental well-being. For example, Indi Star Destination believes entrepreneurs should plan a spa day while on vacation without any distractions to focus on their mental health.
In addition, planning well in advance vacations allows entrepreneurs to notify clients and associates about their vacation plans. Proper scheduling and organization can help prevent last-minute disruptions. Entrepreneurs should set alerts on emails or post on their social media to alert clients they are on vacation.
In conclusion, balancing work and personal life is critical for entrepreneurs. It’s possible to take a leisure vacation while maintaining a successful business with the proper planning and strategies to continue operating their business.

The most effective way to grow your clientele is through referrals and being consistent on social media. In addition, as an entrepreneur, market research is to gain knowledge and other ideas from your competition to stand out. Ask yourself, “What will bring traffic to my page or my business?” Create a calendar and notepad to write your daily activities and any ideas that come to your mind while doing market research.
Second, ask for referrals and create a referral program. A referral program will give rewards such as gift cards for every client who purchases a product or plans a vacation.
Thirds, stay consistent!!! Social media is trending!! People are watching your content !!! Show up and stay strategic in posting your content.
Remember, avoid being stressed out!!!! Growing a business takes time and patience. Take a break to reset your mindset.
