Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Geisha. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Geisha, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What’s been the most meaningful project you’ve worked on?
As of right now the most meaningful project of worked on is the gallery collection I am currently creating. This work is such an intense, in-depth multimedia production that I can’t wait to share in a very pivotal way. I say pivotal due to the fact of my beliefs with art and how I plan to allow the public to experience it.
Geisha, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Before I even thought of as something to create some form of revenue over I utilized it as a way to give people gifts and escape from the surrounding traumas I faced.
I have a range of ability so I can’t say one thing is just my speciality. I believe in not limiting myself especially in any form of creativity. It’s the same thing I tell my students; to never limit themselves. Possibilities are endless in the world of creativity.
I am mostly proud of my ability to connect with people through art. The concepts as well as world I create have attracted many. Every interaction I have deeply appreciated as well. The power that art has to connect people is really in all of us. Most of all it’s such intense raw detail I’m proud of my art it stands out.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
Yes there is and it is to connect and heal. The power art has done for me has allowed me to be able to work through trauma as well as connect with others. It’s beautiful, the butterfly effect that can be created from it! I’m looking to build a platform in multiple pathways to help others as well. In the classroom, it is my goal to help the students to understand how to harness art. Creativity is powerful and I want them to utilize it in their own lives in a positive manner.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding aspect is the positive affect that creates a butterfly effect in the world around me. I have so many drawings on my fridge from my students. I have murals in my classroom that my students and I worked on. My art in my grandparents home that they show to everybody that walks in. My students now have precious memories. My grandparents have multiple pieces of art they love. The want to share and just be so happy from what was created is beautiful. This is my way of spreading my light. I myself sometimes get captured in my students work and smile so hard because it’s beautiful to see what the imagination is capable of creating in this world.
