We recently connected with Geek Girl and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Geek, thanks for joining us today. Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?
I think I knew as a kid. I’ve always known somewhere in me I was destined for stardom. I can remember performing as early as kindergarten for my classes at school. I’ve always loved the stage and performing but didn’t take it serious until my adult years.

Geek, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I first started with cosplaying and was able to get work as a professional cosplayer. Then I was self taught on makeup and special fx makeup to add to my cosplay. I was able to have panels at comic con teaching about what I do and how to build a brand. I’ve always been a fan of music and battle rap. So while networking at a local battle rap league Pyrexx I was given a shot due to my history of music and spoken word. Pyrexx Battle League became my home. I’ve also been able to come and battle at other leagues. Shoutout to 32barz for inviting me to come and rap in front of the legend K-Shine!! I also want to send special thanks to Hunger Gamez we definitely have some great future battles in the making. I also make battle rap wall canvases as a way to give back to the culture. I wanted to be able to pay homage to the legends that came before me and paved a way for me to be able to do what I do. I also have music out Geek Girl-Try it out & Too expensive available on all music platforms. I think what sets me apart from others is my authenticy. I just really enjoy being able to dwell in my passions and share that with the world.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
Finally seeing your hard work pay off. Starting off can be rocky it’s definitely not something that happens overnight. But when you finally get that moment you’ve been waiting for it definitely makes everything worth it. To be told by people that you’re a fan of that they’re a fan of yours is something I’m still in awe of. To have times that people have came to me and said I got the courage to do what I do because of you is the most rewarding feeling I’ve ever had.

Looking back, are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?
I think it’s important to know that no matter what business you’re in that there are ppl starting off in the same position as you. Meaning if your dream is music you don’t have to go out and find the biggest producer ever for help. Success is not overnight. As long as you stay focused, place yourself around like minded individuals, and put in work toward your goal it will come into fruition.
