We caught up with the brilliant and insightful GB two Good a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
GB two Good, appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to go back in time and hear the story of how you came up with the name of your brand?
Like most companies the name came from a few people together, just having fun and being creative with time. We all got to talking one day and my buddy was like we should start a group up with this or something? After a few horrible names we stumbled on something Dmac had said along time ago called Get Ya S$#T and it stuck with us.
Before we knew it other friends we knew started getting tattoos and plastering it on their car windows, it became a movement.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
In the beginning I use 2 take lyrics from other songs that I liked alot at the time and change em out, make them my own in a way it was like a puzzle to me. I fell in love with music and everything to do with it, from recording songs to making videos and editing graphics I was in there it didn’t matter. Now I’m more focused on my own music in all instead of tryna figure out the nooks and crannies of the game, and what all can be done.
I’m having fun with it now and pushing my own boundaries, it’s been exciting seeing what all has unfolded in the past few years really looking forward to what’s coming up.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
For real it’s just the overall feeling of being able to create and express what’s going on with life, weather it’s everyday things or something that’s just to get you out of the slump mentally. I love hearing back from fans telling me how this song or this lyric hit close to home for them. It’s a incredible feeling.
Do you think there is something that non-creatives might struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can shed some light?
Personally I feel if your not creating in some way shape or form your bond to go crazy, we need to have outlets. To be non creative for real seems like it’s to be non existing. Our whole being is to create.
