We were lucky to catch up with Gavin Icy recently and have shared our conversation below.

Alright, Gavin thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?

My mission is to be big on YouTube and put my name out there so I can start earning big time from sponsors and collaborations. I want to be able to take care of my family and make sure everyone that is surrounded by me taken care of and doesn’t have to worry about anything. I love helping people in need and people that are close to me but I can’t help if I don’t have anything to my name.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

Hello, I’m Gavin Icy. I’m known for being a YouTuber and filming vlogs, pranks and challenges. I love to film my everyday life and show the world what I do. A lot of people don’t understand that many others out there would love to be you and live the life you’re living. I started my YouTube channel in 6th grade and I never kept up with it, I didn’t see myself achieving any goals that I had with YouTube so i quit a few times. I had started making videos again and again but always ended up quitting, then 9th grade had came and I really wanted to put my all into my craft and not care what others had to say, so I finally started making a ton of videos and going through with it. It was super hard making videos in high school because a lot of people would make fun of me and make rude comments. When I was in class one day a kid started playing my video on his phone thinking it was funny and had the volume all the way up to try to embarrass me but it never worked because I knew I was better than that person and I had something going for me that I loved doing. I never gave up on my craft all of the hate kept me going and made me focus on what I wanted to achieve even more so I can show all the doubters that I’ve made it. What sets me apart from other people is that a lot of other people care what others have to say about them, me, I don’t care at all. I like to be myself and not change for others. I’m most proud of myself for continuing with my YouTube journey and achieving over 100 thousand subscribers.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?

I built my YouTube audience from my videos. I filmed a lot of vlogs, pranks and challenges, it seems like my audience really loves my pranks the most because those are the videos that are getting the most amount of views. I upload a video every single day at the same time for about 4 months and doing that helped my YouTube channel a lot which brought in a lot of subscribers and more viewers because they see that I’m being super consistent with my upload schedule. Some advice I would give to start growing your social media audience is to always be consistent and interact with your viewers/supporters. Always be yourself, and don’t try to entertain the haters.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?

A lot of people would doubt me and hate on my craft, I would always use that as motivation. Now that my subscribers keep on growing those people that hated on me are now trying to be my friends.
