Hi Gary, thanks for joining us today. Let’s talk about social media – do you manage your own or do you have someone or a company that handles it for you? Why did you make the choice you did?

We handle our own social media. Typically we discuss what we want promoted then make a graphic and add a suitable description. Through proper communication, we are able to run several accounts on several different platforms.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

Hit-Point Hobbies is a One Stop Nerd Shop. We look to supply the community with a place to be their most authentic self and practice their many different hobbies in one area. We have items for cosplay (costume play), Magic the Gathering, Dungeons and Dragons, renaissance faires, and so much more!

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?

Initially, we leaned heavily into our hobby groups and asked them to help spread the word, as well as share our events. We try to make some kind of post at least every day and male sure the community is aware of our free events and services. We use canva premium, for our graphics and designs which has help immensely in regards to the quality of our social media presence.

We’d love to hear the story of how you turned a side-hustle into a something much bigger.

On the cosplay side of things, we have been cosplayers for a few years now and strive to have an inclusive, safe, and fun area/activities for the surrounding community. Many around our community have mentioned desiring to cosplay, however, had troubles such as not knowing how to start, not being able to afford it, and not finding inclusive spaces. We strive to make Hit-Point Hobbies an answer to all those problems with affordable prices, free to use items, and an all around fun environment.
