We recently connected with Gail Gerbig and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Gail, thanks for joining us today. Can you tell us the backstory behind how you came up with the idea?
Eat Drink Find Beauty was launched in the summer of 2021 and I’m now considered a trusted Content Creator in the Tampa Bay area. My husband and I were visiting family in Naples and I shared a photo album of all our adventures together. His sister, an interior designer, was so impressed. She strongly encouraged that I consider starting a professional instagram account to highlight these photos and photography as a business.
While vacationing in St. Augustine the next month, we decided to setup new instagram accounts. Alas, @eatdrinkfindbeauty and @sarasotadrinks were born. There is nothing I love more than sharing my favorite people, places & products with friends and followers!
In the last 2 years, while working full-time as a mental health therapist, I’ve had the opportunity to collaborate with restaurants, boutiques, spas, salons, local markets, and marketing companies featuring restaurants, cooking shows, and boating events. I have been photographed for special events and for promoting companies. As a photographer, I have photographed other instagram influencers. Now I am being featured in CanvasRebel Magazine!
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I’m a mental health therapist by day … and a content creator by night.
I love exploring Florida and helping others find beauty in the everyday. You can find me with my husband
playing pickleball, visiting a local market, pop-up shop, restaurant, or at the beach …
As a growing influencer, Eat Drink Find Beauty provides quality content to highlight beauty everywhere as I capture the ultimate coastal lifestyle … which includes local + quality restaurants, food + drink companies, hotel + vacation experiences, boat+ cruise ship companies, beauty + skin care products, spa companies, self-care services + products, boutiques, fashion + apparel companies, home decor + architectural design companies.
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
One of the most important lessons I’ve learned along my journey is to embrace my own vision. Find like-minded people that encourage individuality, provide support, and are also open to working together as a team. It’s so very important to create a path that defines you and also encourages others to find beauty everywhere. Even in the simplest of things, there is beauty. Highlight it. Bring it to life.
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
Consistency is the key. Remain true to yourself. Don’t sell your soul for more followers.
My husband and I were invited to a local restaurant, Tripletail Seafood + Spirits, for the VIP experience. Chef Trae came out to introduce himself and was so kind to us. In our conversation, Trae mentioned how much he enjoyed following Eat Drink Find Beauty and how excited he was to meet me. This moment was truly humbling for me. Photography is a love for me, but is not my full-time gig. Being a mental health therapist is. I know that high-end influencers and content creators had previously visited Tripletail, but he was excited to meet me! Wow! His words will be something I never forget, and it continues to motivate me. Trae shared that the quality of my photos spoke for themselves. My engagement was consistent and authentic. I hope that he finds the same to be true for when he met me in real life. That’s my hope for Eat Drink Find Beauty, for those that I meet, and for those that I collaborate with – to be kind, consistent, quality, and authentic.
