We were lucky to catch up with Gabrielle Raymaker recently and have shared our conversation below.
Gabrielle , appreciate you joining us today. Let’s start with a story that highlights an important way in which your brand diverges from the industry standard.
Size inclusive clothing is very important to me and the 13 Stitches brand. I feel that everyone should be able to wear whatever they want, including (but definitely not limited to) crochet! I offer sizing through sizes XXXS-3X and I’m always happy to make to measure at request. Crocheted clothes for all!
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My Great Grandma taught me to crochet when I was about 8 years old, it’s been with me ever since. Making clothes has always been a dream of mine, so I decided to use my existing skills and try to make those fashion dreams a reality!
Trebby, my son, was born a little over a year ago, so I made the decision to leave the workforce and be a Stay-At-Home-Mom in hopes to give him the best I can. I started crocheting cute clothes that made me feel like me again at nap times and started sharing my work on my Facebook. To my delightful surprise it was extremely well received!

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
Testing patterns has been a huge help to my brand and I. The crochet community can be filled with tons of teamwork especially in the pattern testing field. It’s usually beneficial for both the designer and the tester, as each party posts about the product in testing to share to new customers.
Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?
I try to stay active on social media and post lots of updates for my customers to keep in touch on orders and new products. I also live stream on TikTok about twice a week so my customer base can get to know me a bit.
