Gabrielle, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Do you think folks should manage their own social media or hire a professional? What do you do?

I manage my own. It can be very costly to hire a social media manager and I think I am doing a pretty good job at it on my own for the time being, I have been able to grow my following pretty quickly, especially since I was locked out of the original business Instagram in April.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

I bought Long Island Luxury Picnics from the original owner in August 2023. I was unemployed at the time and happened to be scrolling through Instagram. I came across a post that was regarding the business being sold. Immediately I was excited as I have always loved decorating. The original owner and I met, hit it off, everything was handed over to me and the rest is history. At the time it was more of a side hustle. I knew I wanted to and could make it bigger and brighter than it was.

At the time I was working in food service and I still do as a bartender. I love working with and meeting new people and making dining experiences exceptional for people. I knew I could apply my skills and expertise to the luxury picnic business. I wanted to be able to make picnics very luxurious, bold, bright and beautiful as people often do luxury picnics for special occasions such as proposals, birthdays, anniversaries, bachelorette parties etc. I make the process easy by providing everything from setting up, decorating, and breaking down and cleaning up. There are plenty of color themes to choose from and a variety if specialty themed picnics as well. I also offer customization services and a growing list of add on options to make each individual picnic unique,

What sets me apart from others is my “over the top” mentality. I like to make everything bold, bright, and larger than life. I also have a unique, bright and bubbly personality.I am also extremely passionate, have worked with all different kinds of people for a long time in different industries, I am patient, and eager to help create something beautifully unique and memorable. I love to try new things and create arrangements that haven’t been done before.

What I am most proud of is overcoming a lot of personal hardships I faced this year while also working on my business and growing my business. I also lost access to our original Instagram a few months ago and since then I have quickly gained a social media following again.

I don’t just create luxury picnics. I also offer Tablescape services and I would like to begin event planning.

I truly love everything this business has brought into my life (people, connections, happiness, sponsorship opportunities). I want people to know that this business is not just about money for me. I truly love what I do and I love to make people happy and make special moments come to life in the most beautiful way possible.

Can you talk to us about how your funded your business?

Unfortunately my grandpa passed away a few years ago. He was a very genuine and giving man and the best grandpa. Due to the inheritance I was given as a result of his passing I was fortunate enough to be able to buy the business and to be able to buy the vehicle that I use for the business. Thank you grandpa! I know he is proud.

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?

Being genuine, honest, personable and my authentic self, Creating beautiful picnics and social media posts. Messaging all new followers, thanking them, and informing them of the services that we provide. Word of mouth, networking, taking on new opportunities and not being afraid to try new things. Being patient, readily available, and quick response times to inquiries.
