We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Gabrielle Moralez. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Gabrielle below.
Gabrielle, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Can you tell us the backstory behind how you came up with the idea?
A recent new instinct of ours is to pull out our smartphones and capture what’s around us. Especially, if you have children. The second your baby is placed on your chest your partner is capturing that moment. When your baby takes its first steps, your iPhone is filming. First day of school? Captured.
I wanted to document those moments also and I do. However, I wanted to ensure that these photos were not going to sit in my camera roll on a device and that they were quality images. I dusted off my camera that I had purchased in college and began to document and edit images from my first born’s milestones. At this time, I also purchased a 35mm film camera. I wanted my children to have a nostalgia feel to their images.
Think about the physical photos that you’ll pull out of the box and sit around looking at during Christmas. Or are we going to be scrolling on our devices?
My mission came naturally, for others to preserve these time in their lives. As I continued to post these images online. Family and friends from the passed reached out and asked me to capture their new family member, their accomplishments, and their next steps in life.
A hobby turned into a business. I knew I could succeed if I trusted God in this career and in my own creativity.
I loved it then and I love it now. It’s always been worthwhile.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I’m Gabrielle, a photographer focused on capturing editorial, wedding, family, and documentary moments. My journey into photography began as a passion for storytelling and preserving the moments I shared with my family and friends. Over time, that passion grew into a profession, and now, I have the privilege of creating meaningful images for others.
I offer a range of photography services, including wedding and family portraits, as well as documentary-style shoots that capture life’s unscripted moments. My approach is to create images that feel genuine and timeless, capturing the beauty of real emotions and connections. Many clients come to me because they want photos that tell their story authentically—not just posed pictures, but moments that show who they are and how they feel.
What sets me apart is my dedication to serving others and infusing my faith into my work. My goal is to give each client an experience where they feel valued and comfortable, resulting in images that resonate on a deeper level.
The part of my work I’m most proud of is seeing the impact these images have on my clients—when a family cherishes their photos as a true representation of their love, or when a couple feels that their wedding photos bring back the emotions of their day. For potential clients, I want them to know that I’m here to create something meaningful and lasting, and that my focus is always on honoring their story.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
My creative journey is deeply rooted in a mission to serve others by capturing the beauty, connection, and authenticity in their lives. I believe photography can be a powerful way to preserve moments that truly matter. My goal is to document life in a way that feels real and timeless, helping families and couples remember not just how they looked but how they felt in those moments.
It is my mission as a photographer for others to have beautiful images that are meaningful to them. For families to have this time of their children’s lives documented. For the mother of the bride to have the image of helping her baby girl into her dress. For the mom to be to document this time of her growing a life. A child’s first birthday and a child’s senior year of high school are huge milestones, that I care about and don’t take lightly.
It’s not about me, but with my own individual creativity it is my goal to create experiences that are unique. With that, I encourage clients to print their images, utilize them, and look back on their photos.
Another key part of my mission is honoring my faith. I want my work to reflect love, grace, and the beauty of everyday life, inspired by the belief that each person’s story is meaningful. Being able to serve my clients in this way, creating images that they’ll cherish for years, is the driving force behind my creative journey.

We’d love to hear the story of how you turned a side-hustle into a something much bigger.
Yes, my side hustle as a photographer did eventually grow into my full-time career. It all started with my love for storytelling through images. I initially picked up my camera to capture moments with my family and friends. As people noticed the authenticity in my shots, I began receiving requests for small jobs, like family photos and events.
As I improved my skills and built a portfolio, more opportunities came my way. A key turning point was when I decided to invest in better equipment and training, which allowed me to take on higher-profile jobs. Soon, wedding photography and editorial shoots became regular parts of my schedule.
The biggest milestones in my journey were booking my first wedding, which gave me a major boost of confidence, and later, making the decision to go full-time. As my business grew, I also honed my specialty in documentary and family photography, adding depth and authenticity to my brand.
The growth was gradual, but each project strengthened my skills and my client base, transforming my passion from a side hustle to a fulfilling, full-time career.
