We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Gabriella Yurevich a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Gabriella thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s start with a story that highlights an important way in which your brand diverges from the industry standard.
It’s so easy to underestimate the depth involved in the process of Social Media Marketing. Many people view it as just posting content, but there’s a meticulous strategy behind it that often gets overlooked. It’s not just about making sales; it’s about creating a genuine sense of community for the brand online.
For me, the key differentiator lies in focusing on building connections rather than just pushing products. In today’s competitive landscape, consumers are savvy; they can tell when a brand genuinely cares about them versus when it’s just after their money. By fostering relationships and creating a feeling of belonging among followers and customers, we go beyond the traditional transactional approach.
This emphasis on genuine engagement has been a cornerstone of my social media marketing approach. It’s not about flashy numbers but about the enduring trust and loyalty that develops when you prioritize authentic interactions. In essence, it’s about making people feel valued, heard, and appreciated in the digital space. This strategy not only transforms customers into advocates but also fortifies the brand’s position in the market, ensuring long-term success.
Gabriella, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
After a crazy year of teaching art, my career trajectory took an unexpected turn in the spring of 2022. I found myself meeting with a career counselor and exploring various careers that would allow me to be creative. That’s when I stumbled upon social media marketing.
I was instantly enthralled & fell down a deep rabbit hole immersing myself in courses and obtaining certifications, notably achieving Meta certification. Despite my enthusiasm, I quickly realized breaking into the industry would be challenging. Prospective employers would turn me down immediately- often citing my lack of a formal marketing degree and limited experience.
However, I kept pushing & landed an enriching internship at Denver Advertising, where I honed my skills in graphic design and social media management. All while, taking on the role of barista and social media manager at a local coffee shop. This experience really sold me on social media marketing after realizing the profound impact social media marketing could have on small businesses. I knew my unique perspective and dedication could address a crucial gap in the market, so I made the bold decision in the fall of 2022—to establish my own social media marketing business.
Since the inception of my business in October 2022, I have had the privilege of serving 16 clients spanning eight diverse industries, including agriculture, beauty, events, food, finance, health & fitness, publishing, and travel. My services encompass a wide spectrum, ranging from content creation and video editing to branding and engagement strategies. One of the core principles that set my approach apart is the emphasis on organic social media marketing, particularly on Facebook and Instagram, tailored for small businesses.
In contrast to the industry norm of rigid, one-size-fits-all packages, I have always believed in the power of customization. While I do offer standard packages as reference points, I recognize that each business has its unique requirements and budget constraints. Because of this, I craft personalized solutions for every client, ensuring that my strategies align seamlessly with their distinctive needs.
Reflecting on this journey, I am immensely proud of the strides my clients and I have made together. As I celebrate my upcoming one-year milestone on October 5th, I am beyond grateful for the support of my clients and community. Looking ahead, I am committed to continuing this personalized approach, fostering meaningful connections, and helping businesses thrive on social media.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
Establishing an engaging presence on social media requires a thoughtful approach, rooted in consistency and genuine interactions. One of the biggest tools in maintaining this consistency is a reliable post scheduler. I highly recommend Meta Business Suite for Facebook and Instagram- it’s what I use for me & my clients. Not only is it user-friendly & free, but it also allows you to schedule posts up to a month in advance. While the frequency of scheduling can vary based on individual preferences, the key is choosing a schedule that is sustainable for you & your business.
Another vital aspect of consistency on social media is the visual identity of your posts. Striving for a consistent look, with elements such as style and colors, helps in creating a recognizable brand image. While templates from platforms like Canva can be helpful, it’s important to avoid overly popular and overused designs. Personalizing these templates to reflect your brand’s unique style and color palette not only distinguishes your content but also enhances its authenticity.
Beyond aesthetics, social media success lies in engagement and community-building. Daily engagement on stories serves as a quick and effective way to connect with your audience, especially when incorporating interactive elements like polls or Q&A sessions. Equally important is the reciprocal engagement with others. Identifying your target audience and understanding their online behavior is key. Actively participating in discussions, commenting thoughtfully on posts, and engaging meaningfully with other businesses, pages, and accounts frequented by your audience fosters genuine relationships.
If you have multiple revenue streams in your business, would you mind opening up about what those streams are and how they fit together?
