Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Gabriela Tubert. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Gabriela , thanks for joining us today. Earning a full time living from one’s creative career can be incredibly difficult. Have you been able to do so and if so, can you share some of the key parts of your journey and any important advice or lessons that might help creatives who haven’t been able to yet?
I have been working extremely hard to earn a full time salary from my creative work. In the beginning, it was very slow and I constantly had to reach out to brands first.
Now, I would say I get at least 5 brands reach out to me everyday, and I get approximately 10 packages a week.
I have been able to make good side income from this. Usually I get paid for making content for brands, either photos or videos.
Some months are better than others, for example last month was $3,000 , but not every month is like that.
Most of the time, i range between $500-1000 a month, which has been so helpful to use this income for saving money.
It is usually very difficult to convince brands to participate in paid collaborations, especially for “micro influencers “ as they don’t think we have enough followers to get paid.
In my opinion, at the end of the day they arent paying for the number of followers we have, but rather for the quality of our work and the fact that they can use our content anywhere they’d like and however they’d like. That in itself is amazing, and we are giving them more affordable advertising / marketing for their products. I don’t think they’d find that anywhere else.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I began my journey about two years ago, and at first it was just for fun. My sister and I would meet once a week at her apartment, just to do our makeup, talk, put on cute outfits and then go for a walk. We would stand outside random houses and take pictures.
In October of 2021 , I got an email from a company I had never heard of.
They reached out to me asking to send me products in exchange for a few posts. I was so thrown off and confused, since it wasn’t at all what I expected or what I wanted to do. I wasn’t even at 1000 followers yet, but I was definitely posting at least one outfit post a week.
And there we go… The first PR package I ever received was from a company called Urban Revivo.
It was the most exciting moment to open a huge box from this brand I had never heard of (at the time) that actually had the cutest clothing ever. The quality was gorgeous, the pieces were gorgeous… I was so happy to take photos for them!
After that, it almost gave me a boost of confidence. I realized that although I didn’t have the best following yet, I had a good aesthetic and I had potential to do do more.
Of course, as much as I loved it and was enjoying it as a hobby, I had to take a lot of pauses and breaks. I was in my last year of college, about to graduate, and also had a full time job where I worked 40 hours a week.
When I graduated from university, got a new job, and was able to settle into my life more, I began to take content creating more seriously. By then, it was probably end of 2022.
I joined a fashion group page on Facebook, and shared my Instagram to the girls on there.
I started taking photos more often.
I reached out to more brands and waited to see if they’d want to work together too.
Now, I have made my page mostly a fashion page (with a bit of beauty mixed into it) slowly growing more and more. It does take a lot of hard work and discipline. I need to be on social media nearly all day and very active on it. I interact with my followers. I look at trends and other peoples pages. I plan my posts. I also take content twice a week for several hours each day. Then I need to work on the content.
It is a slow progress and I can see it takes time, but I am still very proud of how I’ve come.
At the moment, I am most proud of for going outside of my comfort zone. I could be a very insecure and sensitive person, and taking photos and exposing myself so much has been huge for me.
It really boosted my confidence to start going out in public, taking photos everywhere in front of strangers and no matter who was watching.
It boosted my confidence to attend my first New York City influencer events and walk up to girls, start conversations with them, and just make new friends.
I think that’s what makes me stand out, how much I have worked to be confident in myself and I wish to share that positivity and energy and confidence with other women.
My favorite thing in the world is to make a woman or man feel good about themselves and feel heard and safe, and I always wish I can provide that for them. I work everyday to create and develop strong connections with my audience. We direct message, talk, I try to meet and hang out with people as much as I can and make meaningful relationships out of this.

We’d love to hear about how you met your business partner.
I would say my “business partner” is my boyfriend. He is just as heavily invested in this as I am, and works extremely hard to be supportive and helps me constantly. My boyfriend is 10 years older than me, and when I first started dating him, he had zero social medias and zero ideas what it even was. He didn’t even know how to take a photo on an iPhone.
When he learned what I do and what I want to do, he was so excited about it. He began to get very invested in learning everything about social media and growing on it.
He downloaded social medias, learned how to use a camera, began to watch videos for inspo.
Now, he does the MOST to support me. My boyfriend is also a hair dresser, so he does my hair once – twice a week so my hair always looks good in all my content.
He comes with me twice a week to take all my photos.
He helps me pick my outfits and coordinate what looks best with what.
He made an aesthetic corner in my home to shoot reels and Tik toks.
He bought filming and camera equipment and tripods to get the best for us.
He has been so sweet and supportive and is so excited for me to continue growing, so I always believe he is my business partner.
If I ever grow and can make this my full time career, I hope I can help re pay him back :)

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
Definitely! I have many things driving my creative journey. I would say right now for me it’s a better life, happiness, and self worth. I would love to explain a little more by what I mean.
A better life: I have had so many 9 to 5 jobs and none of them have fulfilled me or made me happy. I haven’t been able to use my creative side with any of my jobs, but content creating gives me the opportunity to be creative and think outside the box. It’s constant thinking and trying to be unique, which is so much fun for me.
I guess this goes along with better life and happiness? I would like to give myself a better life and more happiness. I struggle a lot with mental health issues, and doing content creating has always given me a form of peace and relaxation where I can truly unplug and just enjoy something.
I would love to be able to do this full time and be able to feel happy and content with that. Of course, like any job, it will be hard work and stressful at times, but at least it’ll be doing something I love & enjoy.
I would also like to work on my “self worth.” As I touched on a bit earlier, I know like many women & men out there, I struggled a lot with not feeling smart or beautiful enough. Doing this has made me want to prove to myself and others that you can work hard and make it. You can have a “crazy dream” and actually fulfill your dreams.
Sometimes people are so negative and focus so much on the reality and logic of things. I understand it, but it’s beautiful to also have hopes and dreams and believe you can fulfill those dreams.
