We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Gabriela Ferreyra. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Gabriela below.
Gabriela, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?
I didn’t always plan to pursue a creative path professionally — but looking back, it was always part of me. I managed retail stores for years, where design, visual storytelling, and creativity were part of my daily life.
Then everything changed. I became a housewife, and for the first time, the noise quieted. That silence felt foreign… until I picked up my knitting needles again — something I first learned at 9 years old, sitting beside my grandmother. What started as a way to cope became a way to reconnect. With myself. With my roots. With a sense of purpose I didn’t know I had lost.
That’s when I knew this was more than a pastime. It was a calling. And from that moment, Miss G Handmade was born — a space where tradition, creativity, and soul come together in every stitch.

Gabriela, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’m Gabriela Ferreyra, the hands and heart behind Miss G Handmade. I’m a fiber artist, a maker, and a believer in the quiet power of slow, intentional living. My creative path began long before I realized it was something I could turn into a business. I spent years managing retail stores, working with aesthetics, texture, and visual storytelling — creativity was always in me, woven into everything I did.
But it wasn’t until I stepped away from that fast-paced world and into the unfamiliar stillness of being a housewife that I rediscovered a forgotten part of myself. In the middle of that transition, I picked up my knitting needles again — a craft I had learned when I was just 9, taught by my grandmother. What started as a way to find peace quickly turned into something much deeper: a soulful reconnection with my roots, my creativity, and my sense of purpose.
Today, Miss G Handmade offers hand-knitted home décor pieces and natural cotton yarns sourced directly from Argentina — 100% eco-friendly, earthy, and made with love. Whether it’s a chunky throw, hand-knitted towels, or yarn for fellow makers, every item is crafted with intention to bring warmth, simplicity, and natural beauty into the home.
What sets Miss G Handmade apart isn’t just the product — it’s the feeling. I create pieces that tell a story. That honor tradition. That slow you down and remind you of the value in handmade, in the roots we come from, and in creating something meaningful with your own two hands.
I’m most proud of how this brand was born from my own transformation — from a time when I felt lost, into a life where I now feel grounded, inspired, and deeply connected to what I do. I want my clients and followers to feel that, too. Whether you’re refreshing your space or rediscovering your own creativity, I want you to feel held, inspired, and reminded that beauty is in the simple, soulful things.
At its heart, Miss G Handmade is about more than knits — it’s about keeping old traditions alive, creating with love, and sharing something that feels personal and timeless.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
In 2020, I was diagnosed with cancer — a moment that could’ve unraveled everything. But thanks to my powerful connection to my craft, the support of my community, and the peace knitting brought me, I found my way through it.
While undergoing treatments in 2021, I poured my heart into Miss G Handmade. I focused on what I loved — creating with intention, staying connected to my followers, and embracing the calm that knitting gave me. Not only did it help me navigate an incredibly challenging time, but that year also became the most profitable one for my business.
I truly believe this is a message worth sharing: tough seasons don’t have to mean the end. Sometimes, they bring you back to what matters most. And in that space, you might just find healing, comfort, and even unexpected success.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
For me, the most rewarding part of being a creative is knowing that the pieces I make become part of people’s lives — in real, meaningful ways.
A cozy throw that lives on someone’s couch. A baby blanket wrapped around a brand-new life. A handmade gift passed to a loved one. These moments — these quiet, happy, intimate moments — that’s where my work ends up. And that’s the magic.
It means the world to know that something I created with care and intention finds a home in someone else’s joy, their memories, their everyday life. I may never be there in person, but a part of me gets to be present — stitched into warmth, love, and legacy.
