We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Gabriel Santos. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Gabriel below.
Gabriel, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’d love to hear about a project that you’ve worked on that’s meant a lot to you.
One of the most significant projects I worked on was a tattoo project that took over 32 hours in total. In this project I served as a guinea pig to test different types of anesthetics, from root tea to various brands of anesthetic creams. We also tested several brands of needles and several brands of ink. We tested different lighting as well.
So that way I could feel as a costumer what should be better.
And I can give choices to them and make their experiences fantastic.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I’m Brazilian, and since I was 14 years old I’ve been interested in helping people feel better in any aspect and as time went by I realized that people liked to show off their jewelry or their clothes or a new pair of sneakers. I realized that this was good for them. I always wanted to be a surgeon. However, in Brazil the economic issue is always very difficult. Then the winds took me to piercing earrings and piercings. Soon after, I started studying the art of tattooing and since then the universe has brought this gift and this love for making people happier. I always did it for joy, I never thought about earning financial income from my art. However, I decided to expand my horizons and today I’m trying to attract more and more clients..
That’s when the first name “wolf tattoo” came about where I worked in Massachusetts. However, I moved to the Tampa Bay area in Florida and I decided to change the name and start a new story with my new brand called “Karmathechameleon.ink”, an innovative way of expressing yourself. a comparative firm of how incredible and adaptable the chameleon is with its pigmentation changes. In human beings we can also have this privilege in obtaining changes that change our lives in a positive way.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
The journey that illustrates my resilience was my move from Brazil to Massachusetts and then moving from Massachusetts to Florida. In MA I had a lot of difficulty getting my tattoo artist license. There were many rules and the process cost a lot of time and money, making it very difficult. When I moved to Florida, I had all the help from the city council of the city where I live and I obtained my tattoo and body piercing license in two days. I was very happy and very excited, but difficulties began to appear. Many tattoo studios close to each other. lots of supply and little demand.
So I need to be the most resilient human been and walk one step at the time.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding thing is being able to see the finished art and the smile on the client’s face. This power to change people’s lives is very rewarding for me.
