Gabriel, appreciate you joining us today. One of the toughest parts of scaling a business is maintaining quality as you grow. How have you managed to maintain quality? Any stories or advice?

One of the most important things that helps us to stand out, is our pride in being a family owned and operated business. As we began to grow and spread ourselves throughout our community we were graced with the opportunity of expansion. From an immediate business standpoint, it would do us very well, but there was a flip side to it all… we lost that connection with our community. There was something about us being there front and center with our customers, overseeing their exact water quality needs, and ensuring appropriate installation measures that seemed to have gone missing. We realized that what we really wanted was to cultivate life long relationships and friendships with our customers. Remembering that we are not dealing with something as trivial as a stereo or a vacuum, but the essence of life, their water! My family and me personally know what it’s like to work with the “big guys” and to feel like just a number that needs to be collected. We wanted to be the difference. Using our experience, education and expertise, we are here to take care and treat our community like family, and family is always there, no matter what.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

Yes absolutely! Here at Miami Dade Water Solutions we are a small family-owned business and we work closely with our community as well as other local establishments with their water quality. Coming from a family of plumbers, I had a pretty good understanding of where our tap water came from. From how the city obtains water, how it’s then recycled and finally distributed.I always felt uneasy to see all the chlorine, ammonia and arsenic just to name a few PFAS, that went into our water supply and made us steer away from tap water.
That lead us to totally rely on bottled water. To then only learn about the dangers and scares associated with plastic!! It left us wondering what in the world were we able to safely drink for us, and especially our children…

I ended up networking with some folks in the industry and learned that we didn’t have to settle for our city’s tap water. There was actually an alternative option, or should I say, a solution. Namely Water Purification Systems, Water Softeners, and Reverse Osmosis Systems just to name a few!

Sure enough, I broke into this industry and found a way to use the most trusted names associated to water quality and offer them at a very low cost tailored for families just like mine, without those major big name corporate markups…

It is our absolute pleasure and pride to be able to work with our community in offering some education regarding their water quality through free water quality tests, an infinite number of studies and resources substantiating our claims.

In that way, at the very least, we can better assist our neighbors in choosing the best system and package for their family and home, with a personal touch that only a small business can provide!

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?

I would say it has definitely not been a smooth road. All businesses have their obstacles, especially when they first start out.
What we lacked with our size and capital, we made up with passion and vision that pushed us to endure and move our message and solution throughout South Florida.
A lot of folks don’t really know what goes into their tap or even bottled water. Taking that into consideration, we don’t really have to sell or push a Water Purification System, that usually happens automatically once someone discovers that we lead as the third highest PFAS and ”forever chemical” count in the entire country right here in Miami-Dade County. What we really sell is an ideal, that a local consumer can indeed have a trusted and quality Water Purification System installed right in their very home/ establishment, with mom and pop quality service, care, and family-like attention at very competitive costs.
Another obstacle we’ve faced, but try not to let stop us, is feeling like a David in a sea of Goliaths. Even though we’ve added over 20 years of experience to our company, we’re still relatively new, alongside bigger nationwide names.
We do however still take pride in being small family owned and operated, and have every intention and the will to push forward, confidently, carefully, and consistently.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?

What we like to think sets us apart is that we substantiate our claims regarding water quality with facts and studies, and as well as public government information readily available to all persons in our community. We base all of our findings and explanations on public information rather that speculation. A simple visit to our county’s website under their water quality report page, we show you exactly how our water is treated and recycled. You’ll also be able to see exactly what is added to our water. You can then take that information and determine for yourself what exactly you want running through your home and bodies.

Yes, we sell and install quality and reliable NASA engineered Water Treatment Systems, but as I’ve mentioned, we also provide information, education and friendship to our community.
I think what sets us aside is the fact that we are a small FAMILY operated business. Holding those values close to our hearts and day to day operations.
Total transparency with our team and clients is what has helped us stay in business, even through the uncertain times of COVID.
