Gabe , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to hear the backstory behind a risk you’ve taken – whether big or small, walk us through what it was like and how it ultimately turned out.
Taking risks has always been an integral part of Reach’s DNA. My cofounder Frank and I share backgrounds of working at massive agencies like William Morris Endeavor. There, we noticed the meteoric rise of social video in what was becoming an increasingly digital world. So in 2012, we left our traditional agency background to create something new and independent with Reach Agency. With Purina as our first client, we aimed to engage with the social generation at a time prior to influencer marketing hitting its full stride. Ten years later, we have evolved to be a leading creative influencer marketing powerhouse that’s redefining advertising by tapping the power of influencers to create content that inspires action. Our team has grown extensively and our roster now proudly includes incredible clients like Hulu, Nestle, and Clorox. Taking the risk to found Reach Agency has been consistently rewarding for about a decade now.
Gabe , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Gabe Gordon is a social content innovator. As CEO and Co-Founder of Reach Agency, he established the company in 2012 as a new type of agency created for digital video storytelling. Its underlying mission is to engage brands with a social generation. He’s spent over a decade combining his love of advertising, expertise with influencers and a passion for culture to help brands reach the people and places traditional agencies can’t. Over the past 10 years, he has built Reach into an award winning agency in the Creator space. The agency offers vertically integrated marketing services including strategy, creative, production, influencers and social channel management. Since day one, Reach has been producing award-winning social and digital campaigns. As a result, Reach Agency has led some of the world’s largest brands, including Nestle, Burt’s Bees, Anheuser-Busch InBev, Clorox, and Hulu, to success in influencer marketing from YouTube to TikTok and beyond.
Armed with nearly 20 years of global experience, Gabe’s comprehensive marketing expertise spans influencer, social media, strategy and entertainment. He’s a seasoned veteran across multiple categories including automotive, retail, CPG, tech, hospitality and entertainment. He’s orchestrated impactful creative solutions for world class brands including Disney, PepsiCo, the National Football League (NFL), Google, GM, Wal-Mart, Marriott Hotels and more.

Prior to launching Reach, Gabe served as a Content Strategist for PepsiCo and honed his skills for 10 years at William Morris Endeavor. Gabe first broke into entertainment in the music space and worked at Interscope, Geffen, A&M and Sony Music. He’s currently an Advisor for Vidcon, Doing Things Media and Buffer Festival.
He graduated from University of Denver, Daniels College of Business and earned his BSBA in Marketing. He resides in Venice, CA with his wife, young daughters and their dog, Sophie. He loves mountains, oceans and enjoys rebuilding Porsche engines.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
Reach’s mission is driven by perseverance. We are working to transform an advertising business that’s been around for over a century, and that change starts with agencies like us looking at things from a new perspective, whether it’s working with new and exciting formats – like ambient rooms – to establishing a more collaborative process with the creators we partner with, allowing for stronger authenticity. We weave creative influencer campaigns into the fabric of brands’ marketing strategies from the start, and even inspire the big idea for some brand campaigns. We’ve been long-time advocates for social and influencer marketing, and continue to root for it as it grows a stronger presence in advertising and marketing.
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
A pivot that was instrumental in my journey was transitioning from a “Doer” to “Manager”. Day-to-day task execution differs wildly from managing big-picture, company-wide strategy. But I think that is where working with great talent is key. Taking the step into founding an agency required building a team who we can count on to execute phenomenal work as we continue to take the agency to new heights.
