We were lucky to catch up with G Peoples recently and have shared our conversation below.
G, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Can you open up about a risk you’ve taken – what it was like taking that risk, why you took the risk and how it turned out?
Life is best fulfilled through risk. I recently made the biggest change in my life and career. A month ago I moved to LA to further pursue my passions and careers in Music, writing, and mindfulness meditation. I’ve always had a calling to come to Cali and now it feels like I’m home even though I was originally born in Florida. The hardest part is I wasn’t sure any of it would workout. My daughter is back home in Texas, my family, my best friends and girlfriend. I took the leap for all of them. It’s been a month and I’ve been back to visit once but I talk to each one of them every single day. Turns out this move is exactly what I needed. Everything is falling into place so perfectly. I’m meeting people to help me expand left and right. Not to mention my whole family wants to come here now! My best friends tell me how much I’ve inspired them everyday. Since I took the leap that so many are afraid to it completely shifted the world around me. All I can do now is surrender to what unfolds.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers

Outside of music I’m a writers I write poetry almost daily and create visual poems. Also I’m a meditation practitioner and mindfulness teacher.
I have many different passions and hats I put on that all feed off of each other.
It all started when I left college in 2018 to pursuer a life of creativity. Nothing felt right in school and I felt there was bigger purpose I was here for. I’ve always had a strong sense of intuition and for that reason I’m always being pushed to follow it.
I left school and started modeling, making it to LAFW & NYFW and various other runways and print projects. That spark that inspired me to leave school ignited into a wild fire of creativity. I became a freelance model with my brother and we did exactly what we wanted to do. Breaking the limits that society set on us. From modeling, my passions led me to pursuing writing which was always a love of mine. It started with poetry, then led to songwriting. But because I knew no other artist in 2019 I was pushed to record my own songs thus leading to me getting attention and soon I became my own masterpiece, writing and creating a new world of sound and music that intertwines poetry and spiritual perspective.
Once the pandemic hit, I felt the pain of the collective. I started meditating daily in 2017. During the pandemic I brought this hidden gem to light and began helping others find peace within. Now all of these endeavors work together to make me who I am today.
Can you share your view on NFTs? (Note: this is for education/entertainment purposes only, readers should not construe this as advice)
I recently started investing into NFTs but not only that I saw the opportunity and created my own with handwritten poetry and visual poems. I believe NFTs is a great way for creatives to get paid big for their creativity. Outside of collectibles there is such a world for artist to truly be seen. Painters, musicians, poets, photographers all have an outlet that can reach far beyond your normal social life. It’s a world that is just now really coming to light. Before any creative dives in I recommend doing research or even taking a course or 2 on how NFTs work and what they can do for you.

: Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
As stated before, my family. My family fuels everything I do. Not only that but the idea that I can reach millions of people all over the world. My goal is to impact as many lives as possible through creation. Inspiring them to find the light in the dark and accept the dark in the light. Cultivating a world of love.
