We were lucky to catch up with from the rooftops recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, from the rooftops, thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Alright, so one thing we think people don’t talk about nearly enough is investments – either time or money. What’s one of the best or worst investments you’ve made and what did you learned from the experience?
My most significant and, at times, most challenging investment has been my time. I’ve spent much of it supporting others. Occasionally, this pays off with mutual support when I need it, but often it’s just a kind act without a direct career boost.
In today’s world, people want to be valued, but you must first demonstrate your worth. Early on, I focused on building a strong network through helpfulness, which I called “building serendipity.” That is, building the ‘chance’ that someone might return a favor.
Offering advice in areas I was already exploring (like photography, marketing, investing) wasn’t a huge burden for me. While many kindness efforts didn’t yield immediate career benefits, some connected me with genuinely good people who wanted to return the favor.
Being selfless may feel risky, but you can’t win if you don’t play the game. Now that I’ve hit a point of success and comfort in my personal and professional life, I can look back clearly and determine it happened because of only a few serendipitous moments.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I am an artist, entrepreuner, and investor. You can follow my art at https://www.fromtherooftops.net or on Instagram https://www.instagram.com/fromtherooftops.art

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
What helps me most is consistency, being helpful, and maintaining clear branding.
I have a few different income streams, from creative art to business ventures. Before starting any project, I establish the branding. In photography, I build small communities by sharing knowledge and offering help. In business, I do the same on a larger scale, always aiming to add value.
Though my projects may have different names or personas, they all reflect who I am, following the same fundamental approach of consistency and helpfulness.

What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
Referrals are, without question, the best source of new clients. When you work with me, I ensure a positive experience—not just one you’re satisfied with, but one you’d confidently recommend to others. While many strive for massive followings, having a million social media followers won’t bring true success unless they genuinely see your value. Social proof is a powerful motivator, and building that trust is key to long-term growth.
