Friendship , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.

We started out working as Inclusion specialists for programs centered around children with special needs. We saw a need of social and emotional skills for students with and without disabilities. From there, we launched our social skills program for children who have challenges with communicating with peers, regulating emotions, creating friendships, and many other social/emotional skills that need to be practiced outside of the classroom setting. We also saw a need for resources for parents and teachers on how to properly handle challenging behaviors and proactively teach positive behavior in the home and school setting.

Friendship Formulas LLC is an educational company that specializes in social skills classes, parent training, teacher training, camps, IEP support services, classroom observations, student observations, and direct support services. We are known for our social skills classes that are geared towards providing activities and lessons to promote social-emotional wellness for young children. Our social skills program provides strategies and activities to learn how to effectively communicate with others, understand emotions, cope in situations, play with others, problem-solve, and be a leader. Our program promotes educating our students on how to navigate and respond to real-life scenarios that may arise. Our program is different because there are not many resources for kids in all demographics to practice and learn these essential life skills. We are providing an opportunity to address social /emotional skills early for families who may have limited resources.

Have you ever had to pivot?

It has not been smooth journey due to us launching our program right as the pandemic started. Once everything shut down, we had to strategize on how to continue our business safely during such a difficult time. We knew children would need our support more than ever. During the pandemic we hosted our classes in the park to give kiddos a safe space to interact with other kids and learn how to manage their emotions during such a difficult time.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.

We have learned resilience and perseverance throughout our journey. Even when it seemed as though the pandemic would completely stop us, we kept pushing and had to think outside the box.. Once the world opened up more and the kids returned to school, so many children had challenges returning to the classroom environment and needed support. We have been able to support teachers and students by providing them with our services and helping them incorporate social emotional strategies into the classroom.
