We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Fresco DistrictBoy. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Fresco below.
Hi Fresco , thanks for joining us today. We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
I first knew I wanted to pursue this past at 10 year’s old . I had my older cousins rapping around me and a Big Bro on the block that showed me a nice studio.
14 years old I was at Crenshaw High School where I started a rap group with some friends during the jerk era where it was good in our generation . We put money towards the studio , parties , videos beenies & shirts supporting each other and the Crenshaw District.
As that Era ended .. I started another group called #DBFLYG or you can call us “DistrictBoyz” with some day 1 homies and that’s when it got good . I’m making sure even though you a lot of hard things , stay on it and keep going . Don’t let the negative things around or thrown at you stop you from sticking to your plan .

Fresco , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
“Fresco DistrictBoy” .. always been a name I took serious and wanted people to know about and stay relevant by it. I was in the industry by wanting to keep that name in the right people ears , the world and community by making sure I do right things if it was a test I had to take . Music , Merch , Show’s with Good Artist , Events & Maintaining your Goals has always been something I appreciated in my mind . I make sure with any Artist or Client that wants to work with me will get motivated by matching the energy with positive results . I’m proud of all my clients and fans for keeping my name in their mind to know I’m a serious artist when it comes to them still listening , coming to the events and expecting updates from me .

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
Growing up I had a wonderful and Strong Mother . She made sure I wanted to accomplish goals like working hard , graduating college and still wanting to make music . She would come to my shows , sell clothes at pop up’s and say things that would motivate me . She passed away a few years ago which effected me so bad . I want to make sure I have her looking down at me seeing great things like this interview with Canvas/ Voyage . Los Angeles is something and she knew it . I’ll make sure to continue my mission with her in my mind knowing I can make her proud .

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
It was a lot of lessons I had to unlearn but the main is caring about unnecessary things and people . It causes so much overthinking , stress , anxiety and even getting you back to square one . I had a point in my life where it took a real toll on my mind body and soul . I’m growing up from that now , I have to care more about myself and the future . One thought that stays in mind “ Stay 10 steps ahead Not 5 steps Behind “
