We were lucky to catch up with Frengy Alvarado recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Frengy , thanks for joining us today. What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?
The most important migratory phenomenon in recent years is the migration of Venezuelans. Many of us migrated and we did not have anyone to wait for us or to guide us, we felt alone, very alone.
And I was one of those Venezuelans alone, in an unknown country with a different climate, an unknown language and a job that I never thought I would do.
a few days after arriving in Utah in the US we created an instagram account and in days we already had thousands
we discovered that there were many of us who were alone and this first step allowed us to unite
Frengy , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
we turned an instagram account into a means of communication, it became necessary to grow to facebook and twitter.
Then our community grew and grew, joining other nationalities from Latin America. We created a website, www.panasenutah.com, We wrote to Google and they certified us to be able to market our advertising spaces and there we understood that we were already consolidating ourselves as a means of communication for a large minority
Panas in Utah, was recognized by the Utah Venezuelan Alliance and by the State Attorney General, Sean Reyes, as the first social network created to unite Venezuelans,
This recognition motivated us to continue growing and we created an online radio and made our app available to the public with news and radio
Then, the least expected day, we got our TV show, We are Latinos TV, broadcast on Saturdays at 10 am on Telemundo Utah. Hosted by Frengy Alvarado “the pana in Utah”
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
I learned that migrating is not starting from scratch, it is starting again, with your strengths and virtues. But with other resources, rather, with very few resources.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Deliver the best of yourself, with a goal of true kindness and surely the audience will listen to you and always follow you.we all have something to say, you just have to determine who needs to hear that message.
