Freedom, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Learning the craft is often a unique journey from every creative – we’d love to hear about your journey and if knowing what you know now, you would have done anything differently to speed up the learning process.
Well I feel like everything that I create in whatever artistic realm, I learn to do through direct experience and a deep surrender to the spirit of life and the soul within me. There is an inner knowing that leads and guides through each creation, whether it be a beautiful song or a visual art piece. I feel like the learning process IS the process we have to surrender to in order to access our highest potential, and create whatever it is we are here to create on this earth. As with anything, whether it be learning a skill or an endeavor, the most essential ingredient tends to be persistence. Belief, faith, and knowing that you will just keep going, no matter what, until you succeed. One of the greatest obstacles to living in the flow, learning more, growing can be my own inner dialogue, should it shift from the present moment, away from the here and now.

Freedom, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I have been an artist, musician, and writer my whole life, from the time I was just a kid. I was making clay sculptures and starting to play the acoustic guitar around 9 years old. It was never really something I decided to do, more just a part of me. More so who I am. Life experience and the learn-by-doing approach have been essential to my growth and development. In addition to music, throughout my life, I have made countless artistic creations in a wide variety of disciplines including sculpture, woodwork, ceramics, painting, photography, printmaking, and poetry. From the rainforests of Costa Rica, to the cultural art and music centers of Africa, to the legendary clubs of Los Angeles and NYC, a rich diversity of cultures have influenced me along the way. Over time, I’ve established an international presence in the music and art communities, infusing joy and love into everything I do. My music can be heard and artwork found in many countries around the world. My work is infused with socially aware messaging and poetic meaningful lyricism overflowing with good vibes. I create music and art with the loving intention of inspiring all people to be their best selves and enjoy life to the fullest. Every day I do my best to just surrender to the spirit of life and love within me, in everything, and let it guide my every move.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
In 2020 I lost everything when the world was shut down. The music industry, the art business, all was obliterated and I was left with no income, almost overnight. That same year, one of my dearest friends passed suddenly from an aggressive form of cancer. Many challenges confronted me. Everything in my world was turned upside down and shaken to the roots. In those pivotal times, I just kept doing my best to persist, to not give up, to trust the universe had a perfectly orchestrated plan, as always. And it did. Better than I can imagine. I feel more aligned, successful, happy, and at peace in my life than I ever have before and I am eternally grateful to Great Spirit for all of it.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of creating is definitely sharing the energy, love, magic, inspiration, joy, peace, laughter, emotion that comes through. Creating and sharing something that makes people feel something. All surrendered and connected to spirit, allowing the creation to happen. Just being the vessel for all of these things to be created is an honor. The fact that I get to share music and art with people who really love it, understand it, and it somehow just sets them free, that is the greatest gift.
