Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Fredricka Wynn. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Fredricka thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?
I wrote poetry during my teen years, and I always envisioned writing my own story. During the COVID pandemic, I was laid off from work and began writing more. I decided to go for it. I started my first book, Discernment. I expressed all that I went through during my childhood years. Having my first child at an early age and being in and out of foster care. I went back to what it felt like, and also to the memories. The more I wrote every day and went back and read it over, I relived it. I was into my third chapter! Every chapter was titled based on that moment and time of my life. I also found it helpful to write everything out because at the time, I was not in a good space. When I finally finished the book. There was so much I thought about. Rather, if anyone would be interested in reading it, how would I self-publish to get the book out? I began to research information on the types of publishing. In 2022, I officially self-published my book. I went through delays and people who I thought would have helped, but I never gave up. The next year, I released two more books. I knew then I was able to get through the process of publishing and understanding how it works. I released another book in 2024 and went on to brand my writing into my own company. At the start of 2025, I pre-launched and released my business. The idea was always with me; it sometimes just takes you as a person to go for it.

Fredricka , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Envisioned Writers Inc. is my publishing company. Starting my company was my vision to help others create their own stories and give them ideas to achieve their writing skills to become self-published authors. I branded my business based on my work as an author. My biggest lesson coming into this was not asking questions. Most publishing companies will not give you the information you are initially looking for. I wanted to create a space of my own to help people with similar stories and to provide services that will walk my clients through the process from start to finish. I build my clientele based on trust and reassurance by allowing my clients to review each step before finalizing. It’s their work, why not own 100% of your work?
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
What helped me build my reputation was the lessons of learning. You’re never too old to learn from your own mistakes. Building a relationship with your clients means far more than just making a sale. I like to understand what my clients require and understand the approach for narrowing down how to get good results.

Are there any books, videos, essays or other resources that have significantly impacted your management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy?
Yes, I read books on self-development, and I also love to fact-check things that I am reading. I have videos that go more in-depth around my books on my YouTube channel ( authorwynnfredricka). My self-care book is a guide to understanding how to heal and let go. It changes your way of thinking on how to understand what you need to be in a better space, and also having peace of mind and a better outlook on things. I’d rather give people something they can use, learn terms that will be useful to help someone else.
