Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Freddy Feaster Krishna Patel. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Freddy Feaster, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?

We here at Roshnee, created this brand to share our creativity and love for candles. My partner has always loved candles and I remember one day she burned a candle and it took my back to a childhood memory that I had forgotten about. Here at Roshnee, that is our goal. To help our buyers seek memories and comfort in our candles as they burn in their home, but in an environmental friendly way.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

Krishna and Freddy and we are the owners of the candle company Roshnee. Roshnee means light in Hindi and we created Roshnee so we can share our light with those around us. We wanted to create something together and in 2021 we did that, making our first candle. It’s been a fun ride learning all the ins- and outs/math that comes with creating a great smelling candle. But it’s also a creative path that allowed us to use our time and energy thinking, creating, and bringing our thoughts to life. It’s all about passion, my partner and I both enjoy candles and the ambiance that a candle can bring into a room or living space. Candles allow our community to reminisce on positive thoughts or create new ones as they burn our candles. Either way, it’s a positive energy exchange and we at Roshnee are all about spreading the light so that others may share the light with those around them, creating a ripple effect.

What’s been the best source of new clients for you?

The best source for new clients thus far has been farmers markets and pop ups for yoga events. We enjoy being faced with the Roshnee community so they can meet us and also smell what they’re purchasing! It’s win win because face to face interactions allow us to connect and see reactions of everyone who smells our beautiful candles!

Can you talk to us about how your funded your business?

Everything in our business has been trial and error, it was not easy because we didn’t always see the light in the beginning but we remained persistent because we knew this was the path for us, having our business together. Our business is funded completely by us so learning how to manage our profits to reinvest into our business was something we didn’t struggle with fortunately but was necessary to learn. Something we want the world to know is that our company started as just an idea and are continuing to progress daily. So we just want anybody reading this to know it’s never too late or too hard to start something of your own, it just takes a thought and then action.
