We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Freddy Centeno a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Freddy, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
Since I was a child I always liked the artistic world, but the music side caught my attention more, being a singer, being a DJ, producing music, my inclination was always more towards the world of DJs and music producers.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I am from Venezuela, Born in the City of Caracas, I currently live in the United States, My love for music began from a very young age, although it was not until 2020 that I dared to investigate and explore the musical world. He started as a producer, and started a musical studio in Venezuela with his brother, at the beginning of 2021 he started his career as a DJ / Producer, I took advantage of the Instagram platform to have 30-second videos playing and make myself known, and that’s how Everything arose from then on, events for live performances began to arrive, this year I released my first AfroHouse-style song, titled Caricuao, it is on all digital platforms, I am proud of everything I have achieved so far, I am enjoying the process.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most significant aspect that an artist must have is discipline, perseverance and hard work, knowing that you must sacrifice many things to achieve the objectives and goals that you set for your career as artists, especially being surrounded by people who support you. and lead you to success.
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
Yes, I have a clear goal of where I want to go. A year ago I suffered the loss of my younger brother and that has been motivation to move forward and dedicate the success of my career to him as we began this journey together.
