Hi Franklin, thanks for joining us today. What do you think it takes to be successful?
This has always been such a fascinating conversation for me because I think I have an objective perspective. Some of the most outstanding entrepreneurs in the world didn’t necessarily start out with a grand vision. They started with an idea and an action.
Since my younger years, I knew there was something for me that I was destined for. I knew I would not be an artist or a famous sports player. Instead, I envisioned empowering myself and others to become something great.
Success is not a linear road, so patience and consistency are significant in everything I do. It has been a game of self-awareness. The more I understand myself, the more I try to put myself in a position to succeed. Coming out of the corporate world at age 26, I had always considered myself a great salesman. With this, I started looking for an industry that fit my passion and where I could grow.
Over time studying the industry and investing in personal development, I realized that success compounds itself, and as you gain more confidence, you rapidly gain more momentum. Even small, seemingly insignificant steps performed consistently over time will create radical change.
My best strategy has consistently been executing. Day by day, I’ve built my vision which is constantly evolving. It takes a lot of hard work, hustle, and grind. I firmly believe you can consistently execute and figure things out later. Do not wait around with the fear that you do not know where your mind ends up or do not have the right idea. Perfection is the enemy of progress. Even if you are not moving in the right direction, it is better than not having any movement; you will learn from your mistakes and change your direction.
This strategy derives directly from opportunity. It came from action in the first place. I became a loan officer and found success in that. Then I began to understand the real estate market and the possibilities there. I started understanding the other presented opportunities, which got me into single-family and now multi-family commercial properties. All these actions will enable a grander vision of possibilities. I’m currently working on vertically integrating other pieces of real estate companies.
All of these things come from my obsession and my ambition to continue to do more. Building a personal brand, providing growth to business partners, winning more clients, and creating a workspace concentrated on development.
Accepting the fact that you must navigate the unknown is essential. A vision of where you want to go is nothing unless you take action.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers?
I am an owner/broker of Clear Choice Home Loans. We are an independent mortgage company. Mortgage brokers are licensed financial professionals. Our job is to help you compare mortgage lenders while shopping for a home loan to find interest rates that fit your needs. Think of us as Loan Officer who deals with many more lenders that are able to provide different solutions.
Our business comes from word-of-mouth referrals, either from real estate agents or past clients.
The key to a long and successful career as a real estate is to establish strong, long-lasting client and partner relationships founded on trust and respect. Keeping your client’s best interests at heart is the first step.
We provide many value-added reasons for our referral partners and clients to use us. Providing great, and memorable, customer service is a great way to build loyalty among your customers and differentiate yourself from the competition.
Do you have any insights you can share related to maintaining high team morale?
I firmly believe in the maxim, “If you want to go fast, go alone; if you want to go far, go together.” We are in a growth-oriented environment in the office. Due to the high level of trust and drive within the team, we have a decentralized management structure. The staff is very highly skilled … they set the bar high for themselves, over and over again.
Through assembling and supporting a team of superstars who share the goal of helping each other and their clients succeed, We have helped lead his business to expansive success in the past several years. By valuing a strong company culture, conducting expansive research into pricing, and building solid client relationships over time, Clear Choice Home Loans LLC has satisfied all types of clients throughout Texas and Florida.
Are there any books, videos, essays or other resources that have significantly impacted your management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy?
There are many books, videos, and different resources that I’ve consumed while going through this journey of personal and business development. The one I’ve enjoyed the most has always been (Think and Grow Rich) – Napoleon Hill “Do not wait. The time will never be ‘just right.’ Start where you stand, and work with whatever tools you may have at your command, and better tools will be found as you go along.”
The main benefit is that by combining the brain power of two or more people to solve problems, the result is more than the sum of its parts. There is a surplus from sharing experiences, ideas, and skills that could never be achieved if each person worked on their stuff alone, and that’s why Masterminds are so powerful.
