We were lucky to catch up with Frankie Krygs recently and have shared our conversation below.
Frankie, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What did your parents do right and how has that impacted you in your life and career?
The way my parents raised me greatly impacted my life both personally and professionally. My dad was extremely hard on me and my older brother growing up. He was a perfectionist in everything he did or worked on, so he also expected the same from us. It doesn’t matter how good of a job I would do on anything, in his mind there was always room for improvement. He also worked very hard and a lot to make sure our family was provided for.
My mom on the other hand was more relaxed and free-spirited. Although she never went to college, she did have this amazing ability to connect with people. There would be times when I was with her waiting in line somewhere and something would distract me. Five minutes later, when I would look back to where my mom was standing, she and the stranger in line next to us would be laughing and having a ball as if they were two pals catching up who haven’t seen each other in a while. This happened everywhere we went. That’s far greater than any college degree in my opinion.
As a Transformation Specialist, I use my mom’s natural gift of connecting with people to help build strong relationships with my clients and help them in the best way possible. I also use my dad’s fierce work ethic, self-discipline, and tough-love approach to keep the business running smoothly and efficiently while always looking for new ways to improve it and add more value to people’s lives.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
It all started when I was younger…Beginning in my freshman year of high school, I treated life like one big party and that any day could be my last. My main mission in life at that time was to have as much fun as possible and ensure that those close to me were also having fun. I started DJ’ing for a bit in my early 20’s. I was making good money, getting the girls I wanted, and living that rockstar lifestyle. Life was really good. The only problem with living like a rockstar is that you’re always looking forward to the next high or party, and that usually comes packaged with drugs and alcohol.
It wasn’t long before I was introduced to all different kinds of drugs, the next one more intense than the last until one day, the unthinkable happened. One of my best friends overdosed and died. Shortly after, another one of my friends overdosed, and then another. Some were accidental overdoses and others were suicides because the withdrawal symptoms were too intense. The ones that did make it out alive were in and out of rehab facilities struggling to get clean. A few others and I were some of the lucky ones, but I lost some of my best friends due to that lifestyle. It changed how I felt about partying, drugs, and living that reckless carefree lifestyle in general.
On my way to prep for a DJ’ing gig, I got into a head-on collision with another car. I wasn’t wearing a seatbelt yet somehow I didn’t die, I didn’t have any broken bones, or get ejected from the seat. I tore my AC joint, had cuts all over my arms from the glass, and limped around for a couple of weeks after, but other than that I was okay. It was a miracle and it happened right in front of a church ironically. I took it as a sign from God that he was giving me a second chance to do better. That was the wake-up call I needed to walk away from my old life. I decided at that moment instead of wasting my life partying and chasing highs all the time I wanted to live a more purposeful life. I wanted to help people; people that were struggling with addiction the way my friends were, and those who suffered from fear, anxiety, or depression.
I decided to stop DJ’ing and change my career path entirely. I got certified as a personal trainer and nutritionist and started working at gyms and fitness studios. I kept furthering my education, becoming a behavior change specialist, performance enhancement specialist, and then a certified life coach. I was working for Lifetime Fitness in NJ at the time. They were planning on opening a new location in La Jolla soon, so I decided to move to California and help with the grand opening at the end of 2019.
About three months later in 2020, Covid happened and everything shut down. Months later, they called me and told me they were letting me go. I moved across the country by myself only to be laid off during a global pandemic. I didn’t know what to do, so I decided to go all in and spend every last dollar I had on myself by starting my own health coaching business. I have been doing it ever since. It’s called “Kinetic Krygs.” Kinetic means something that is in motion or ongoing, and the origin of my last name “Krygs” means “to fight.” So together it means to keep fighting for the things you want in life because the moment you stop is the exact moment the things you don’t want begin to take over.
With Kinetic Krygs, I offer life coaching, nutrition guidance, habit building, digital organization, and more. I used to do personal training but have recently stopped due to the high demand for life coaching. I have a book called “Kinetic Ketosis” which is available on my website and on Amazon Prime as a paperback. I also offer a 12-week Transformation Course called “DreamBuilder” that people can sign up for on my website that offers the essentials you need to transform your life.
If you want to upgrade the quality of your life while evolving into the best version of yourself, then I’m your guy. What sets me apart is that I’m not just another fitness trainer or nutritionist. I’m a certified life coach who focuses heavily on your thought patterns, habits, behavior, and your emotional health. For any real change to happen on the outside it first must happen on the inside.
What I am most proud of is being awarded “Transformation Coach of the Year of 2022” by the Brave Thinking Institute in my very first year of being certified as a Life Coach.
I want people to know that if you are someone who is experiencing anxiety or depression, and if you feel like there’s more to life but you just don’t know what that is or what that looks like or how to get there, know that you are not alone and help is available. I have made it my life’s mission to help transform as many lives as God allows. However, you have to take the first step and reach out and admit you need help. There’s no shame in asking for help.

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
Word of mouth. Some people might say digital advertising now that we’re living in a digital era, but I still believe word of mouth is the strongest influencer. It’s how I was able to start a business during peak Covid times while the rest of the world was shut down.

Can you talk to us about how your funded your firm or practice?
When I started my business “Kinetic Krygs” I had to invest a lot of money for the start-up fees. I needed to purchase all types of fitness equipment, software applications, LLC formation fees, and find a contractor to set up and install the gym the way I envisioned it. It wasn’t cheap by any means. I took out a personal loan and distributed the rest among my credit cards. I purposely put myself into debt to make this dream come alive. I believe no amount of money is ever wasted when you invest it back into yourself. There’s always a chance you might fail at something, but I believe if it’s that important to you you’ll find a way to make it work, and if it’s not then you’ll find an excuse
