Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Frank Lind. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Frank, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We love asking folks what they would do differently if they were starting today – how they would speed up the process, etc. We’d love to hear how you would set everything up if you were to start from step 1 today
If I had to start over again, the first thing I’d do differently is find a good coach or mentor right away. It’s one of the smartest moves you can make to reach your goals faster, and it’s so important to trust the process they guide you through. I’m not just saying this because I’m a coach—I know firsthand how much of a difference it makes. These days, we’re bombarded with advice and information from everywhere, and it can feel overwhelming. It’s easy to get lost in all the noise, but that’s where a mentor comes in. They help you cut through the clutter and show you a clear path to follow.
When I first started, I thought I could do it all on my own. I hit so many bumps in the road, and it slowed me down. Once I found a coach, everything changed for me. The guidance I received helped me grow faster and avoid mistakes that I didn’t even realize I was making. As you progress on your journey, your mentor may change too. It’s like climbing a mountain. One guide might be able to take you halfway, but as you reach higher levels, you’ll need a different guide to help you go the rest of the way.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I’ve been building businesses and helping others do the same for over 20 years. I’m also the author of The Business Mentor – Your Fast Track to Success, and I have an exciting new book coming soon called The R.P.M. Formula – For Ultimate Business and Mental Performance. These books reflect what I’ve learned over the years and how I’ve used that knowledge to help business owners and entrepreneurs achieve their dreams faster.
When I first got started, I tried to do everything on my own. Let me tell you, it wasn’t easy! I made a lot of mistakes and faced challenges that could’ve been avoided if I’d found a coach sooner. But once I did, everything changed. That’s why I’m so passionate about Business Coaching others today. I teach my clients how to build their businesses smarter and with more confidence, focusing on both business strategy and mindset. I believe the way you think is just as important as what you do.
One thing that sets me apart is my experience. I’ve started multiple businesses over the years, so I’ve been in my clients’ shoes. Whether you’re just getting started or looking to grow, I know how to guide you through the process because I’ve done it myself. Plus, I’ve had several mentors and coaches who’ve helped me along the way, and I know how important it is to have someone who’s “been there, done that.”
What I’m most proud of is helping people believe in themselves. I’ve spent years studying the mind, learning about visualization and overcoming limiting beliefs. I think the greatest entrepreneurs, like Ray Kroc and Elon Musk, understood how to change their thinking to achieve success. I teach my clients how to do the same, showing them how mindset plays a huge role in reaching their goals.
On a personal note, my wife has been my biggest supporter through it all. She’s the daughter of a Marine, so she’s tough and always has my back. I also have a little puppy, Hanna, who keeps me in the present and reminds me to enjoy life in the moment.
At the end of the day, I want my clients to know that success is possible if you have the right mindset and the right coach. Trust yourself, find someone to guide you, and be ready for the journey ahead. There will be tough times, but with the right attitude, you can push through anything. And I’m here to help you do just that!
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
When I look back at the start of my career, it’s easy to see how resilience became one of the most important traits I developed. After high school, I didn’t follow a typical path. I wasn’t handed anything on a silver platter, and I wasn’t following anyone else’s blueprint. In fact, my first business venture wasn’t anything grand or glamorous—it was a little firework stand on the east side of Chicago. But I poured everything I had into it because I believed in working hard and building something of my own.
From that small beginning, I went on to start other businesses, like a sign company out of my garage. I had three employees, and we hustled every day to get the business off the ground. But let me tell you, it wasn’t smooth sailing. There were moments when things didn’t go as planned. Orders got mixed up, clients fell through, and it seemed like I’d taken on more than I could handle. I remember sleepless nights, wondering if I’d made a mistake and questioning whether I could keep pushing forward.
But giving up was never an option for me. That’s when I learned one of the most valuable lessons about resilience: it’s not about avoiding problems; it’s about how you respond to them. When things went wrong, I found new ways to make them right. I dug deep, worked longer hours, and figured out how to fix mistakes instead of letting them break me. Each time I hit a roadblock, I reminded myself that I had the power to go around it, over it, or straight through it if I had to.
As time went on, I realized I couldn’t do it all alone. That’s when I found my first coach, someone who helped me reframe the way I thought about business and success. It was a turning point. Up until then, I had been trying to figure everything out myself, but having a coach by my side changed the game. It was humbling to admit I needed help, but it was the best decision I ever made. It didn’t just make me stronger—it made me smarter.
I carried those lessons with me when I started my next business, an art gallery with my wife. We faced new challenges, but I had learned by then that resilience is about adjusting to each new phase of the journey. My wife was my biggest supporter and partner through it all, always ready to help me push forward when things got tough.
As I continued to build my businesses and grow, I discovered that resilience isn’t something you’re born with—it’s something you develop over time. Every failure taught me how to get back up, and every setback showed me new ways to move forward. Now, as a business coach and author I share this lesson with my clients. I want them to understand that resilience isn’t just about surviving tough times—it’s about thriving through them.
Life and business will throw challenges your way, but if you can adapt, learn, and keep going, there’s no limit to what you can achieve.
Today, I’m proud of the businesses I’ve built and the lives I’ve impacted, but I’m most proud of the resilience I developed along the way. It’s what has carried me through every challenge, and it’s the trait that I encourage every entrepreneur to cultivate.
Are there any books, videos, essays or other resources that have significantly impacted your management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy?
Over the years, I’ve learned a lot from different books, videos, and resources that have really shaped the way I think about business and success. One thing that I train my clients to accept is, success is limited by your knowledge and reading is the fastest form.
One of the most important books for me was Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill. This book opened my eyes to the power of mindset, showing me that success starts with how we think. It taught me that believing in myself, setting clear goals, and staying focused on those goals is key to achieving anything in life.
I also learned a lot from watching videos of people like Tony Robbins, who is all about personal power and taking massive action. He helped me understand that the way you think and feel affects everything you do. Another big influence was Grant Cardone. His “10X” philosophy—aiming ten times higher than you think is possible—pushed me to think bigger and work harder than I ever thought I could.
If I had to recommend resources for other entrepreneurs, I’d say start with books that challenge how you think. Think and Grow Rich is a great one, and I also recommend The 10X Rule by Grant Cardone. Watch videos from successful people like Tony Robbins and Grant Cardone, and learn from their experiences. Listening to those who’ve already walked the path helps you avoid mistakes and keep motivated when times get tough. Learning is one of the most important parts of being an entrepreneur—you have to keep growing if you want your business to grow!
