Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Frank Kamasz, DC, CSCS, FR, FRC, SFDN-1. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Frank, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Was there a moment in your career that meaningfully altered your trajectory? If so, we’d love to hear the backstory.
For me the defining moment in my career was based on when I found out I was going to be a father. I was very proud of the work I did in the traditional healthcare setting and the help I provided my patients, but my talents were never fully utilized the way I knew they could be.
I knew I wanted to be available for my daughter which meant I could no longer prioritize work over personal obligations, I needed to work closer to home, and I needed to be fearless when pursuing my passions. That last part is especially true if I wanted to set the example for her to do the same as she grew up.
Professionally, starting our own performance based practice meant going back to the drawing board and figuring out a business model which allowed us to offer a superior product for our clients. This really allowed me to map out my customer’s journey, implement more of my own blended skillset, and develop a new level of creativity which was missing from my professional life. Personally, it meant having the courage to flow with the period of transition in my life and not fight it.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My name is Frank Kamasz, DC, CSCS, FR, FRC, SFDN-1. I am a performance based chiropractor and certified strength and conditioning specialist in Houston, Texas.
At Rebel Mobility and Fitness we help active adults recover from injury and achieve Thoughtless, Fearless Movement. We 100% believe in the importance of variation in human movement, so we get to the root cause of the problem to create long lasting change.
We achieve Thoughtless, Fearless Movement and create long lasting change solutions in our 3 step process:
1. Reset: Find the root cause of your pain and reset the pain cycle and negative feedback loop your body is experiencing.
2. Restore: Use your customized mobility, strength, and stability plan to restore normal tissue function and correct muscle imbalances.
3. Reload: Improve performance and prevent future injury by reloading tissues and creating Thoughtless, Fearless Movement.
We use our background in clinical sciences and exercise science to blend the clinical and performance skills in our office. We utilize interventions like manual therapy, orthopedic dry needling for rehab and performance, Functional Range Conditioning, and remote coaching.
We pride ourselves on the long term relationships we develop with our clients and the superior service we provide.
Here is what our clients can expect from us:
We see people when their visit starts. Every time. You are not going to sit here and wait for 2 hours wondering if you are going to be seen by the doctor. We are going to see you when you are supposed to be seen for the entire hour.
Our appointments are 1 hour long. We expect to see you when your appointment starts, so please do not be late, so you get all your allotted time to problem solve.
When you come in you’re going to see me one-on-one. Every single time. There are no hand off to assistants here. You get my full expertise.
We’re going to dig into the root cause of the problem. We’re not going to solve symptoms like many other providers you’ve seen before.
I’m the one that’s going to answer calls, texts, or emails to you.
I’m going to send you specific homework on exactly what you need to work on. This is not cookie cutter medicine.
You’re going to get a custom email from me with your homework with links of exactly what to do.
We are going to teach you long term solutions to take care of yourself. Great health and wellness does not belong behind an arbitrary paywall. You need to take ownership of your health and well-being.
You can expect us to be punctual and on time, every single time, because we value your time. That is your time and our time and we are very punctual. We expect you to be on time and we are going to be on time as well.
Most of our clients utilize a package. It allows you to commit the time, energy, and resources to achieve a long term resolution to your problem. This is something we can get into more detail on during your first visit.
You are the Hero of your own Story. We are the Guide.

Putting training and knowledge aside, what else do you think really matters in terms of succeeding in your field?
Asking for help is never a wrong idea when starting or running your own business. When I began I thought I would have the luxury of time to figure everything out on my own, but the longer I struggled with things the more I realized I needed to seek out help to blunt the learning curve.
I now belong to a local business group, international clinical groups, a national business network, and even created my own Mastermind with a few other local business owners. They all serve a purpose in their own way, but the overall theme is you can probably do most everything on your own, but you don’t have to.

Have any books or other resources had a big impact on you?
Miindset is such a big thing to struggle with when being an entrepreneur.
I really struggled with the idea of “selling” my services when I first started out because of the dirty connotation with sales. I had to re-frame my mind and understand a sale is just a transference of trust. I also knew I had a superior product and service that could really positively impact the quality of my client’s lives.
Sometimes you need an allegory to help you with the struggles of business ownership. The Alchemist and the story behind the publishing of the book are both inspiring in their own rights. When you need to keep your eye on the prize I would give it a read.
The book which can help give guidance on reaching your true potential is The Big Leap. It helps remove barriers that are self limiting and guides you to higher levels of creativity.
