Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Frank Czajka. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Frank, thanks for joining us today. We’d love to hear about a project that you’ve worked on that’s meant a lot to you.
Ah, Guttervision! That takes me back. It was one of those subversive gems from the early ’90s that graced the public access airwaves. For those who aren’t familiar, public access channels were a quirky slice of television history. Cable providers had to allocate a channel for local residents to create their own programming. Imagine a delightful mishmash of oddball shows, ranging from topless dancers to puppets and everything in between. Guttervision was part of this wild mix. While I don’t have any tapes of it myself, I can tell you that it was a blend of elementary editing, weird programming blocks, and a healthy dose of randomness. Picture a rotund woman dancing to utterly unpredictable music for hours on end. Sadly, public access eventually faded away, replaced by more mainstream channels. But those who experienced it still cherish the heart of its weird soul. If only we could resurrect it somehow! By the way, if you’re curious, there’s an okay documentary about public access called Public Access Hollywood that might pique your interest1. If you ever stumble upon old tapes of Guttervision, consider yourself lucky—you’ve got a piece of TV history in your hands!

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
As a future entrepreneur, you are constantly experiencing ups and downs, whether personal or business challenges. During my tenure in the music industry, I experienced such a turn of events. A technological blow, NAPSTER, this disruptive innovation would change the music business environment forever. The collateral damage was significant and continues to this day—the ability to adapt and recalibrate is the key to someone’s success as a business owner in my opinion.
In business theory, disruptive innovation is an innovation that creates a new market and value network or enters at the bottom of an existing market and eventually displaces established market-leading firms, products, and alliances.
Constantly reevaluate the tools in your toolbox.
Find great partners
Dare to be different
Be a critical thinker
Find your passion and figure out how to make money with it
Know when to be flexible
Be magnanimous

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
. DREAM ENVISION EXECUTE
YOU CAN’T BUILD A REPUTATION ON WHAT YOU ARE GOING TO DO
VISION WITHOUT EXECUTION IS JUST A HALLUCINATION.
IF YOU ALWAYS DO WHAT YOU HAVE ALWAYS DONE, YOU GET WHAT YOU ALWAYS GOT.
