We recently connected with Frank Aragon and have shared our conversation below.
Frank, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What’s been the most meaningful project you’ve worked on?
A Time of Love and War is a World War Two period piece that takes place in Papua New Guinea and Los Angeles in the 1940s and the 1980s. It is the story about a Mexican American navigator who story is one of survival against all odds and his journey of healing from his traumas. I think I found and discovered this story was an act of sheer faith and empathy towards my only self , a journey of healing and discovery of myself. We all have our individual childhood traumas that we overcome but not all of us heal from them. This story is about that and in making the movie I healed myself as well. My parents weren’t perfect as most parents aren’t. So I grew not perfectly loved and at times emotionally abused. As I go older these situations in my life led me to relationship’s that were familiar to me and I related to them as if I was a child trying to desperately fix the past because I knew them so well. Being loved is by far the most important to us and not being forgotten. My character in the film In which I wrote , produced , directed and starred in is lost in the jungle barely alive from being thrown from his B17 Flying Fortress threw an open hatch when it is shot down. Badly injured he survives for three weeks in jungles of Papua New Guinea.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I started in the business as child I was 13 taking the bus to Hollywood studios. Sneaking in the studio lots to drop off my picture and resume in casting director mailboxes. Trying to get a break trying to get an audition. Eventually I landed a role in play that took me from the call board theater on melrose place to the Harold Clurman theater in New York. It was a dream come true. And I was 19 years old. I was an actor in New York City in an off broadway play. That was amazing. I returned to Los Angeles where I had grown up all my life and kept auditioning and I got. Angeltown. In which I starred opposite Theresa Saldana. Perseverance is key in Hollywood and 30 years later I’m now a member of the Directors Guild of America and the Screen Actors Guild.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
Sharing human emotions that affect other humans in a way that is positive. We are miracles. Gifts to all humanity in our own way. Being able to share those gifts is important for us all.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
Live life. Share your truth. Stay positive be kind be empathetic but most importantly be you. I live everyday like it’s my last day. Because everyday is a gift and we never know the end date. So I try to enjoy it all. The good and the bad. Live and learn. Be happy. Share those things. There really your memories for you to look back on when you’re older and maybe your children and there children.
