We were lucky to catch up with Francis Codecido recently and have shared our conversation below.
Francis, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
I found that my mission is to help others achieve their goals, having a space to de-stress and exercise at the same time, in a place where sport and dance come together to allow you to express yourself freely, gain more confidence and have fun, my way to do this is through pole sport and pole dance classes. It is funny because I come from a family where the 80% of them are teachers, when I was a child I used to say that I would never be a teacher like them, I did not have patience to teach others, until I found pole dancing and realized all the good you can do to others through pole, in fact, I did not seek to be a teacher, things just happened, that opportunity arose and I began to teach some classes, the students were very happy because I had a great ability to teach, and when I realized how I was helping others to achieve goals, I just fell in love with teaching, helping others to feel good, stronger and gain more confidence in themselves.

Francis, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
A moment in which everything in my life changed, career, life, work was when I had to move out of my country due to the difficult situation of security and political persecution, I’m from Venezuela and 6 years ago, we had to look for another horizon and start from scratch in this country to whom I am very grateful for all the opportunities he has given me. It was not easy to leave everything, but when you have a goal you have to continue working for it despite the changes and adversities, I was preparing to compete in Venezuela and all that had to stop for approximately 3 years due to the changes. However, here I am making myself known through the ways I have in another country and I have managed to win two PSO competitions in the USA, so if you have a dream, fight and don’t stop working for it, my next goal is to open a pole studio, so let’s go for it. In the meantime I continue learning and giving online classes and workshops.

Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?
I find very important to keep in touch with my students to follow up and evaluate their progress. It is very useful to have their feedback on how they are learning and growing so I can continue improving my way of teaching and give them the best of me. In my case, I keep in touch with the students via email, WhatsApp or through my social networks. I try to follow up with the students to see their progress, whether they are from regular classes or workshops. This allow me to give them my advice and help them continue growing, I realize they value this very much, so my advise is that you should be consistent and you have to know your customer very well, the more you know them and provide them with right solutions and keeping in touch you can built good relationships and they will be loyal to your brand.
