We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Francis Aguilar a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Francis , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. If you could go back in time do you wish you had started your creative career sooner or later?
I 100% wish I had started sooner. I had always tried to dabble with creating content and making videos, but deep down, I felt shy—maybe a little embarrassed about what my friends and family would say. The funny thing is, I eventually decided to start a secret Instagram where I knew absolutely no one. That’s when everything changed for me. I started enjoying posting videos because I wasn’t afraid of the views or engagement—I started with zero followers, so there was no pressure.
Within 90 days, I had lots of strangers supporting me, and I built a great community. It was a turning point, and I wish I had taken that leap earlier. However, while starting earlier might sound appealing, I don’t think I would’ve had the same clarity or focus. The experiences I’ve gone through over the years—especially becoming a dad and building my lifestyle—gave me a better perspective on what I want to create and how I want to connect with my audience.
Starting later could have delayed this journey and the valuable lessons I’ve learned. There’s something to be said for jumping in when you’re ready and learning along the way. Timing is everything, and for me, when I did start, it was the right moment.
Looking back, I wouldn’t change a thing. My growth and approach feel organic because I let my passion lead the way. Every stage in my life prepared me for this creative path.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I’m a content creator based in Los Angeles. My journey into this industry began when I decided to overcome the hesitation I had about putting myself out there. I started a secret Instagram account where I could create freely, without worrying about what people I knew would think. That’s when everything changed. I quickly built a community of supportive strangers, which gave me the confidence to take content creation more seriously.
Now, I work with brands to create authentic and engaging content that resonates with their audiences. What sets me apart is my ability to bring a real, relatable touch to the content I create. I’m passionate about helping brands tell their story in a way that feels genuine while also connecting with viewers on a deeper level.
I’m proud of the community I’ve built and the engagement I’ve received. For potential clients or followers, I want them to know that I take a personalized approach to everything I do. My goal is to create content that not only resonates but also builds lasting connections.
Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
The driving force behind my creative journey is connection and authenticity. My goal is to create content that not only resonates with people but also feels genuine and relatable. In a world where a lot of what we see online can feel staged or overly polished, I aim to keep things real. I want my audience to see themselves in the content I create, to feel like it reflects their own experiences.
Another part of my mission is to help brands tell their stories in a way that feels authentic. I believe the best connections between a brand and its audience are built on trust, and that starts with creating content that people genuinely connect with.
Ultimately, my mission is to create meaningful interactions—whether it’s through engaging videos, creative collaborations, or simply building a community that supports and inspires each other.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being a creative is the connection I get to make with people. Whether it’s engaging with followers, seeing how content resonates with them, or working with brands to bring their vision to life, it’s all about that human connection. When someone tells me they relate to what I’ve created or that it made a positive impact on them, it feels incredibly fulfilling.
I also love the freedom to express myself creatively. There’s something powerful about turning an idea into something tangible that others can experience and enjoy. Every piece of content I make is an opportunity to share a part of myself or a story in a unique way, and that sense of expression keeps me motivated.
Ultimately, knowing that my work can inspire or resonate with others makes the entire process worthwhile.
