We recently connected with Francesco Antonio and have shared our conversation below.
Francesco, appreciate you joining us today. How did you learn to do what you do? Knowing what you know now, what could you have done to speed up your learning process? What skills do you think were most essential? What obstacles stood in the way of learning more?
I learned about acting first in high school drama. It’s where I fell in love with the craft. From there, I was guided into entering an acting conservatory in Toronto, Canada, for four years. That’s where I really learned the technique and skills I needed to enter the industry professionally. Once I left the conservatory and began working, I eventually made my way to Hollywood, California. And even though I had many successes in my career, I still knew it was very important for me to continue my training, so I enrolled myself in the Stella Adler Academy of Acting in Hollywood, which is considered one of the premier acting schools in the country. Regardless of where I am in my career, I will always continue my training so that I can sharpen my skills and learn new ones. I believe you can never stop learning.
I think the most essential skills outside of technique were the life lessons I gained by putting those techniques into practice. For example, learning how to ground myself when preparing for a role was a significant practice when I was actually on set and overwhelmed by multiple cameras and instructions. Grounding myself allowed me to stay in character and give my best performance.
I would say the biggest obstacles in my learning would be different life events that took away my attention. Regardless, I always reminded myself that I could not let anything get in my way, and although it would be difficult at certain moments depending on what was going on, I continued to train and focus my time on bettering myself as an actor.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I am an award, winning actor, writer, director, producer, recording artist, and entrepreneur.
I am a partner at several companies that deal in marketing, media production and health in wellness. (@Mycreativesocial / @creativesocialLA

As an actor I have been in multiple shows on Prime Video, Netflix and HULU including WAYNE which was named in 2018 one of the Top 10 streaming shows by The LA Times. I have starred in a feature film VANDITS that premiered in theatres in the US and Canada and is now on TUBI.
As a recording artist, I am signed to an independent Toronto music label called DKO Music Group, founded by record breaking, recording artist SNOW and my last single, HELP charted on the spotify top ten charts.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
I remember renting a closet in someone’s bedroom near Venice beach in California. I was so broke and scared I really thought that I should pack up and go back to Toronto. I had just auditioned for a movie VANDITS and as I had thought I had made up my mind about giving up, my agent called me to let me know that I booked the part. This new job meant I could continue my journey a little bit longer and reminded me that I should never again consider stopping what I am doing no matter how hard it gets.
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
I really just want to be able to support my family and myself while doing what I love every day. I know I will be able to provide audiences with performances I can always be proud of and to be able to feed my family off that alone is a dream come true.
