We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Francesca, Rebekah, Serenity a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Francesca, Rebekah, Serenity, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today How did you come up with the idea for your business?
KISS Events became an idea in 2020 when Rebekah got engaged. We quickly realized that planning a wedding on a budget was going to be a task. Planning weddings can be stressful and expensive. WE decided shortly into planning Rebekahs wedding that we wanted to help other brides fulfill their vision and help plan their dream wedding. The KISS in Kiss events means Keep it Simple Sweetie. This word came from Francesca’s late husband who used that term often as a lieutenant for a local police department in Kenner, La. Over the last 3 years, we have planned and coordinated many weddings with fun and interesting clients. We have learned what to do and what not to do. We all feel this idea has been rewarding in each of our lives and have helped countless brides realize their wedding dreams on a budget!

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Kiss Events was started to help brides on a budget plan the wedding they dream of. We offer full and partial planning, day of and month of coordinating. We also offer officiant services as well as pet services. We have many options you can choose a la carte. We handle everything from vendors to aunts to future mother in laws! We work to make sure your wedding day runs smoothly and if any problems arise, we handle it without you even knowing! Our goal is to make sure your day is all you dreamed of!

Can you tell us the story behind how you met your business partner?
Francesca met Rebekah at birth as she is Rebekah’s aunt. They have always had a close relationship and maintained that their entire lives. Serenity and Rebekah became friends by attending Restoration Church in Montgomery together and have maintained their friendship through the years. Essentially Francesca and Rebekah started Kiss Events and invited Serenity to join them a couple months after the business was started.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
We created our social media pages and started posting anything that we deemed helpful and relevant to event planning. We would share as much as we can. Rebekah spent many hours researching algorithms and ways to build your social media presence. She still does that today. There are special times of the day that you should be posting to get the most traction. We also use Meta Business Suites to streamline the process of posting and keeping up with social media. Content is important and posting daily gets you seen.
