Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Francesca Delisle. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Francesca, thanks for joining us today. Can you talk to us about a risk you’ve taken – walk us through the story?
Entrepreneurship is one of the greatest risks you can take. It demands everything—your time, energy, and resources. While we’re no longer hunting and gathering for survival, we are now building businesses and creating opportunities. In today’s world, the “dragons” we face are the challenges of entrepreneurship, and this has been the greatest dragon I’ve ever tamed.
We’ve poured everything into this—our blood, sweat, and tears. Many have asked, “Why?” The answer is simple: we believe. We believe in what we’re building, in its ability to empower others to create their own businesses, and in helping people move from merely surviving to truly thriving. Above all, we believe in ourselves and the vision we’re bringing to life.
Francesca, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My life has been full of incredible highs and humbling lows. The highs were dazzling, but the lows grounded me and revealed what truly mattered. In the 2000s, we had it all—homes, vacations, designer “stuff.” Then, we lost everything. What remained was the strength of our love, our family, and a determination to rebuild—not just our lives, but ourselves.
When tragedy struck again, it reshaped my life. My brother, just 36 years old, passed suddenly from an aneurysm. That loss turned my world upside down, but from it, I gained clarity and purpose. I knew it was time to build something meaningful. After saving and researching countless ideas, MySyde was born.
MySyde is Community Media—a step outside the traditional social media box. Instead of spreading wide and far, we focus on connecting you directly with your local community. MySyde helps entrepreneurs market their businesses, build meaningful connections, and stay in the know—all within their local network. It’s about moving away from the noise and creating true, impactful connections where it matters most.
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
In 2008, we lost everything—our homes, our possessions, our sense of security. We went into survival mode, clinging tightly to what little we had left. We worked hard to rebuild, focusing on personal growth and moving forward. But even as we made progress, scarcity still controlled us.
When you lose money—when you have nothing—scarcity seeps into your mind, your soul, and your decisions. It quietly takes over, tearing you down before you even realize it. That scarcity mindset followed me everywhere, even into my business, where it had no place. I played small, holding back, running my business as if we were still barely scraping by—even though my husband’s 40-hour-a-week sales job and my side hustle provided more than enough for us to live comfortably.
My business needed freedom to breathe, to grow, to take risks—and I was suffocating it. It wasn’t until I made a conscious choice to embrace abundance in every area of my life that things began to change. I had to relearn how to trust, how to let go, and how to give my business the space it needed to thrive. It wasn’t about playing it safe—it was about taking the leap. And when I did, everything began to shift.
Can you tell us the story behind how you met your business partner?
Two of my business partners are also my life partners—my husband and my sister. I couldn’t do this without them. They are my backbone, my unwavering support system, and having them by my side in both life and business is a joy I can’t fully put into words.
They hold me to a higher standard than anyone else ever could. They call me out when needed, speak truth with love, and keep me grounded. Their belief in me strengthens me, and because of them, I am a better person.
They are my foundation. They carry me when I need to be carried, push me when I need to be pushed, and hold me when I’m down. Their presence in my life and business is a blessing I’m endlessly grateful for.
