We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Fran a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Fran, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?
I have painted several meaningful projects with my art. Doing paintings of special places in nature. Special children also. There are places that remind me of where I grew up and where I became fascinated with light and how it changed the appearance of the sky the grass and fields.

Fran, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
As a single Mother with a full time job most of my painting was done after work hours or the weekend. Most of what I paint are things I choose or meaningful to.me. however I have had commissions from people who liked.my work.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
I love to express what I see and the feeling of the moment with nature. Color is very . important to me and the expression I see. I hope to have someone feel the painting.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
Growing up in the Northeast countryside of Texas where we had acres of trees and fields gave me inspriation. I was always
facinated by the changing colors and patterns of light. Nature has always been a great inspiration for me. Often I paint the outdoors as I “feel” them.
It always seemed like somethng was pushing
me to paint.
Now that I am retired I have enjoyed finding new subjects and the beautiful play of light on the water, in the fields, on the beach
and on many other interesting subjects to me.
After studying with various teachers who were very helpful I think I began to find my own way on which things inspired and
interested me.
I am very thankful to have painting in my life and I think it also draws me to the beauty that is everywhere.
