We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Foreign Ángel a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Foreign , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
To be honest, it started off as just a dream. I never thought of it being possible, especially coming from where I come from but I felt that I wasn’t the average artist. That hunger to show and prove to myself that I could achieve my dream is what pushed me day in and day out. My vision was always unorthodox and outside of the norm when it came to creating and seeing what I could do and how I stand out from everyone else was all I needed to see to make my dream a reality

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is Foreign Angel. I was born and raised in Indianapolis, IN now residing in Phoenix, AZ. I’ve always been a creative person for as long as I can remember, always drawing, painting and making music. Especially being around my older brother drawing painting all the time it created me It wasn’t until I was 15 I realized that’s I wanted to take it serious. I started with music first then the art came slowly after which is when I I created my brand “Eternal Wav”. I primary focus on clothing but I’m now getting more into actual canvas paintings.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
Growing up in Indianapolis it isn’t to many opportunities to grown and it got to a point where I started to feel stagnant and I just felt lost in what to do next. So I felt that the next and best thing to do was change my environment . I wanted to be around more like minded creatives which lead me to move to Miami in 2019 then moved to Phoenix in 2023 and I’ve been here ever since. It was definitely the best decision because it allows me to grow as a person as well as an artist.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
When I moved to Miami I wasn’t in the best mental space I was searching for a sense of purpose and peace. I moved with only $300 and a plan to make my dream work. In the mist of that I was working dead end restaurant jobs and I was homeless sleeping in the street but I had the determination and will to keep going and make it happen by any means necessary. Every single day I was on a mission, which just showed me how much I really wanted it.
