Flora, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
For over 20 years, I have worked in media across broadcast and digital.
For as long as I can remember, I have been curious about the “why” of things. Back story is often more interesting than the story itself.
And it matters to consumers. In this time of comparison shopping, they want to know:
1) Where is the product made?
2) Why is it made?
3) Who is making it?
4) What’s the impact of consuming this product?
I started Evolution Content because in 2020 alone, 4.4M people started new businesses. That’s +50% up from the previous decade.
With social values driving 2 out of 3 consumer purchasing decisions (McKinsey, 2021), and with 50-90% of the user journey taking place online, it is imperative that businesses convey their values in a compelling digital format that meets consumers where they are.
But content marketing services are expensive. Agencies cost thousands of dollars per month. Not everyone is a creator of content.
The solution?
I found a way to scale premium, affordable, video and content creation and bring these services to small and medium size businesses (SMEs), with an emphasis on supporting female entrepreneurs.
Did you know – as of 2021, there are 27 million small businesses alone that account for 50% of US GDP? Women-held firms account for 39% of those.
Empowering business owners to reflect on and define their “why” through storytelling is our skill, and a joy and privilege for us.

Retention is the new acquisition, so client relationships should be build to last. I do this by really investing in my clients as people, getting to know them, what matters to them most, and identifying relevant opportunities to connect and deliver value – whether it’s an insight, a connection, or a service.

I have pivoted from broadcast to digital to higher ed to brand to government. Lots of adapting and lots of resilience! I’ve learned new subjects over and over and over again – and I can talk through this – and the throughline/skill set that has propelled me forward.
